It doesn’t matter if the lake is full or “empty.” Lake Oroville is so large there’s plenty of room to recreate. Oroville consists of three forks, North (from Lime Saddle Marina)Middle and South forks (accessed from all the other launches) and of course the main body. When lake levels are high, take a cruise up Middle Fork to have a look at Feather Falls! Bean Creek, half way up middle fork is also a year round waterfall that you can swim up to.

Read moreOroville Lake has something for everyone. Bring your duck floatie, paddleboard, kayak, speed boat or just the dog. We've been taking this guy down to learn to swim regularly. My only concerns are not related to staff Please pack your trash out and leave the lake better than you found it. People leave behind trash which destroys the beauty and is dangerous. Keep eyes open, we met up with a "camper" walking through. There appears to be an encampment nearby. It would be great of there were more trash bins scattered around to encourage people to be responsible with trash. The day we went to the lake, the water level was really low so there wasn't any activity until the water level returned.
From our photos, you can see how low the lake level was. We checked out some of the houseboats for future projects.
