Features walking trails including one that goes all the way to the backside of Brewer Lake. Fields Pond public access area and boat launch is located on land protected by the Audobon Society so keep an eye out for birds. Maps are available for the trails and all are easy to hike, I have done them all in flip-flops but I definitely recommend sneakers. Fields Pond doesn't have much of a public beach area but I have managed to set myself up right there where the boats launch but only if nobody is around. You can also take the Lakeshore trail to the backside of Brewer Lake where there is a small beach area. I grew up in Orrington and this is my favorite area to go in this town to get some quiet and be alone with a book. There are plenty of spots to sit on a rock or some earth near the water and...

Our family loves this place. It is our "go-to". My grandmother used to have a camp out here when I was a kid. The only "minuses" I'll give it is 1.) There is poison Ivy alongside the back of the beach so keep kids away from that area. 2.) It doesn't allow dogs and 3.) There isn't any bathroom/outhouse so keep that in mind (especially if you have kids lol) Aside from that though It's clean, quiet and not far from town. We love the privacy of the area and although it's a relatively small strip of beach, it never seems to be crowded. On second thought.. this place is terrible.. don't go. It's haunted, your in laws are always there and the pond has sharks. Negative...
