My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this terrific museum. I can’t remember the last collection I saw that was so impressively curated. It’s obviously assembled by donations and run by people who genuinely care about preserving the history and story behind this local Michigan air base. For sure the favorite memory will be the guided tour given by Mr. Gray Taylor, who was stationed on the base back in 1964. An experience like this is made so much more meaningful when someone who was there offers their perspective and personal account. I appreciate the ladies at the front desk who greeted me at the entrance. I talked with Gray who is one of the tour guides. I would go back just to get to hear him again. We were stationed @ WAFB from 1967-70 (when he retired). It was his last station. I remember going to school (grades 2-5) in Oscoda.
