Needed to go to Kalamazoo to drop some stuff off so figured I might as well get a little hike in on this HOT day. I can now say I’ve been at Wolf Tree Nature Trails in the freezing cold with snow on the ground and the polar opposite. This is a southwest Michigan land Conservancy property and has a cool history in regards to what a wolf tree is ( Google it ). Hence I do believe that I have a couple of pictures of these trees in my photos. This is a pretty hilly terrain so even though there’s only about 2 miles worth of trails in here you’ll get a decent workout. It is dog on leash friendly, kid friendly, it is not handicapped accessible nor does it have facilities. There’s a decent sized parking lot. The trails here are well marked but there is no map. The trails are all loop Trails a interconnect so it’s pretty hard to get lost. The good and bad of today’s hike was that there are a lot of wildflowers in bloom right now so I saw a decent variety of them as illustrated in the photos, but they have just done a controlled burn there so till there’s a couple of good rains the smell of chard wood is...

Used to come here all the time I miss it greatly, but we were chased off by the man who lives across the street last winter, my boyfriend and I came off from our hike rather late (dusk)and as soon as the man seen my headlights he was over there with his vehicle and blocked mine screaming he was going to call the law it was a horrible experience and I have not been back since, I understand hours etc etc but what would have happened to my vehicle if we had been any later coming back, I did make a call to Kalamazoo County Sheriff to hopefully prevent any...

left quickly bc of bugs. regardless of how beautiful the greenery is (which is very beautiful btw), it’s poorly maintained in a way that most pathways are narrowed and very crowded with tall greenery pouring over. with the greenery being so close/touching u as u walk, it’s overwhelming how many bugs accompany them. these two combined made me want to leave within minutes. i know i’m a wimp when it comes to bugs but i know i can’t be...

Great nature preserve just west of Kalamazoo with well marked hiking trails and informational signs to tell more about the area. Terrain has dramatic hills and elevation change but nothing my two toddlers couldn't handle. Only improvement would be to allow well-behaved dogs off-leash.

Beautiful nature preserve in a nice, quiet area. You can get good exercise since part of it is pretty hilly. There's some nice little fun fact signs hiding back here. There's also a good variety of birds back here in summer.
