Love it!

My first MTB trail visit and I was hooked. The Kentucky Rumbler trail, although marked “Beginner” is not a beginner friendly trail 😂.

Cambr Freeway is really nice, and you can see the river a little bit from Bobcat.

If you’re considering checking this out for the first time, please use my suggestions as a guide to make your visit that much better.

It can be confusing at first, I would suggest you use these two apps: Trailforks or MTB Project. Both on iOS or Android.

They’ll be able to help you find your trails, where you are and where you want to go so you don't get overwhelmed with an “I’m lost” feeling.

I would highly recommend to bring a camelbak with at least a 2.5L or 3L (ideal) hydration bladder or at least a bottle in a bottle cage. Hydration is important! Also bring high protein and calorie rich snacks to give your body fuel throughout your time here. Energy chewables, beef jerky/beef sticks, etc.

I would also recommend to bring a Medkit. You never know tbh, and with the wooded scenery and sloped areas, you never know when you or someone else gets a pretty bad injury that you can help on the spot.

Be mindful of people behind you if they’re going faster (let them pass), and non riders get the right of way on the trail.

Most importantly, PICK UP YOUR TRASH.

Don’t leave garbage laying around Mother Nature and be respectful to her and the trails. It’s a beautiful park!

Other than that, if you see me, say hi! Have fun, take your time and enjoy!

Make sure your tires are knobby enough! That was the first upgrade I bought after my visit.

Make sure you have disc brakes and they’re in great working order!

Trust me, you’ll need both to...

Great spot for hiking or mountain biking. Signs indicate that helmets are required for biking. Portable toilets are available near the parking lot. Starting at the southernmost parking spot, I took the red trail south to the blue trail. As you make your way south down the blue trail, watch out for a little path on the left down to the river bed where you can enjoy a scenic and breezy break from your activity. Continuing along the blue path through the south loop and then down the green (hardest) path, filled with steep hills and loose rock, which meets the blue trail later on. From there I continued until the yellow (second hardest) which I took to the red path and back to the parking lot. I found that this path allows you to see the most of the park without overlaps. This way took me about 2.5 hours at a moderate pace. I drove 30 miles to the spot and would say it was worth it. Would recommend if you're...

We went to Saw Kee Wee (first timers) to Hike & Mt. Bike!!! What an adventure!! The lake is beautiful and the trails are very challenging; regardless if you're hiking or MTB. The outing was DEFINITELY (and immediately) moderate to advanced. Although my husband and I are avid riders and consider ourselves better than average weekend warriors, we only made it thru the first couple of miles on the "blue" trail. WE HAVE WORK TO DO. 😳😳 We must have looked like "newbies" because more "experienced MTBers" would occasionally stop mid-ride and ask us if we were "OK" and warn us not to take certain pathways.🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🤔 pssssstTHANK YOU* We did heed their advice! We ended our trip on a great hike back to the truck and vowed to RETURN. I lived to tell the story and schedule...

Visit here and you almost forget you're in suburbia. Very little for hiking, though, since the fat tire cycling folk tend to fly through any decent areas to hike. But, if you ride fat tire bikes, this is an excellent place to go and probably one of the only places in this area you can actually get a workout. From what we know, this used to be an old quarry so there are a lot of leftover tailings piles throughout. This makes this park greak for someone looking for a moderate workout. It is intermixed with residential homes so be sure to stay on the path. Also, you'll hear plenty of gunfire there since the Sheriff has their shooting range nearby.
