Black Rock Nature Preserve — Attraction in Otterbein

This little trail is not for the faint of heart. The terrain is rocky and slippery, along with lots of tree roots. AllTrails shows it as less than a half a mile out and back however, there are numerous off shoot trails to take, nothing is marked, and most of the time you have no idea where you are or where you’re going. On the flipside, it’s absolutely beautiful and most of the views are breathtaking. Especially when you realize you’re in the heart of Tippecanoe County in Indiana. So this was a beautiful place, we came in mid October it was stunning. However many of the reviews said family friendly. Well maybe an older family. I have a three year old with no fear of death and he ran at the cliffs that were ten feet from the trail with 100 hundred foot drop no railing. No doubt beautiful but leave toddlers at home.
