Some great wines and wine tasting in the middle of, beautiful cornfields off HWY-26 off HWY-63 towards Lafayette. The place has some great desert wines and some nice flavors/tastes from grapes which they do not grow locally, but import from around the neighboring states Wisconsin, Ohio etc. The wines are flavorful. Wine tasting is $6, and comes with glass free. Wines are $12-18 per bottle with 5-10% discount when buying 6-12 bottles. I would say that the price is worth it. I will perhaps come back in the future.
The reason I take two stars off now is because no one - even the people serving the wines who interact with a lot of customers - were wearing masks, which is disdainful and shows some degree of disregard for safety - and will make me not recommend this place to my fellow colleagues and family who are 50+ in age, at least in the near future. Go there only if you are...
Read moreNever going back. Had our first visit a month ago and when we walked in no one else was there. My wife and I were treated very rudely with an unwanted feel. The owner was cold even after we stayed and spent over $100 while there. We always like to give establishments a second try and so we decided to bring a friend with us. This is an over 2hr drive for us. When we arrived and entered the open door, we were told they couldn't serve us because they were closed and had a private party. We expressed that we just drove 2 hours and the hours on Google said 8pm closing. The owner's response was "oh I don't use Google for my business." I asked if we could have one glass of wine on the outside patio and then we would leave. Her response was flat out no. Absolutely no appreciation for her, how she runs her business and definitely not how she treats...
Read moreWorst experience ever at any Winery. The wines were subpar and the owners are abrupt and rude. They appeared to be burnt out. Refusing to serve people who seemed the slightest bit tipsy. Patrons who were talking amount themselves and laughing were called drunk and asked to finish their wine outside of their establishment. We have been to wineries all over the US and never have I ever experienced such appalling attitudes and behaviors by owners or staff. My first bad winery experience in 25 years! I would not recommend my worst enemy to visit this place. If I could give it negative stars, I certainly would. If you want to have great wine with a great welcoming atmosphere and wonderful people go visit Whyte Horse Winery. That is well worth your time and money. Hookers Corner leaves a lot...
