Don’t get me wrong, the campsites are great if you’re wanting to use a camper. It used to be horse friendly. Now not so much. There’s $5 a night to keep your horses in the shelter. The owner made a point that horses can’t be on the grass AT ALL. Each site has water,electric, fire pit, picnic bench that will be covered but right now there’s no roof so you’re SOL. Camping per night is $36 and comes with not so friendly neighbors that seem to have stayed for a long time with a bunch of flower pots all over. Large playground for kids but definitely not toddler friendly. Cabins say sleep 4 but that couch isn’t too big and it’s all 1 room. Cabins come with crappy fire pits and old picnic tables.    Read moreThis place is Gorgeous!! Our friends reserved the hay barn for their wedding, and we were out there all day long enjoying the scenery and paved trails throughout the park. Very very beautiful place to visit or camp! My eldest son came out here 5 years ago when he was at summer safari at the ymca in Ottumwa. He quickly recognized the area and began showing me around the bird observatory and the trails. We all had a blast. Reception on picnic tables under the barn roof (cement floor), buffet style in the back. Lots of plugs to keep food warm. No cool so bring ice. A well water pump for H2O. Bathrooms OK..
