Ben Hawes Park — Attraction in Owensboro

Love this place! Its always family friendly with an open forested feel, lots of rolling hills. It's got a big parking lot which I've helped teach nieces and nephews to drive in. Its got a large playground and several picnic tables that are spaced out throughout the park and more picnic tables under a large pavilion up front. Would make a good area for family reunions or get togethers. It also has the start to one if my favorite backroad drives, and has a racetrack for soapbox cars. It's a very good quite place to go & chill! There bathroom facilities are closed a lot & you would think they would never close except at night! They have a few pieces of playground equipment for the kids! It really would be a great place for kids if the city would spend some money on playground equipment! The Par 3 course is great for new golfers like myself! No frills, just a great spot to practice that is generally not too busy.
