My husband and I have been planning to go to Trunnell's and take pictures with the sunflowers for well over a month. We bought tickets in advance for Labor Day weekend and drove from out of town to get there only to be told upon our arrival that they had closed because of mud. We were not offered a refund or an apology for this, only told that we could come back and use our tickets another day during September. We still very much wanted to experience the sunflowers, but my husband decided to go ahead and ask for a refund in case we were not able to make it back during September.
Later that evening, I received an email about the refund. We were only refunded the cost of the actual tickets, and not given back the tax or extra fees. We were confused about this and unsure what the other fees were that we paid, so I called to ask and was told that someone would have to call me back.
I waited a week and did not hear from anyone, so I called again the following weekend. The woman I spoke to could barely be bothered to listen to what I was saying, and finally told me (again) that the person in charge of handling refunds would have to call me back.
I waited another two days with no call before calling again. The woman that I spoke to this time happened to be the same person we spoke with on Labor Day weekend. She explained that the extra fees (almost $6) were because we paid online in advance, and that the money that was not refunded to us goes to the ticketing site that they use, not to them, so they do not refund that money. I explained that the only reason we ordered tickets in advance was because their website says it is cheaper than paying at the gate (by about $2 a ticket), but we ended up paying more than that in online fees, so this actually caused us to pay more than we would have paid at the gate. I also felt that they should have told us that we would not get a full refund when we asked for the refund initially, because we probably would have made a different decision if we knew we were going to lose money.
We unfortunately could not see eye to eye on the matter, and she even went as far as to say that they had "gone above and beyond" and "bent over backwards" to make up for the situation. I wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. The fact that I had to call several times over the course of more than a week to even get someone to speak to us is proof enough of that. We also felt that, since customers who purchase tickets online provide phone and email, they should have reached out to people who bought tickets in advance to let us know they had decided to close for the day so that we would not have wasted gas and half of our day driving for nothing.
I told the woman on the phone, who had referenced her boss/the owner several times during the conversation, that her boss is actually probably the person I should be speaking with since they are who seems to be in control of these situations and not her. She said that she would give them my name and number and have them call me. It has been 4 days and I still have not heard from the owner.
My husband and I would still very much like to give Trunnell's our business, and I expressed this to the woman I spoke with, but after the disappointing lack of professionalism that we have witnessed, it just won't be the same experience. It's a shame that they don't have more consideration for...

Wear shoes you'd wear on a nature hike not flip flops or you will. Order online for better deal. I bought her the top tier and I got just participate. They give you a bag of food (tiny) a bottle 🍼 and 5 Tokens with her deal. We still had 3 tokens left over and traded them for a mine bag upgrade. We had a cloudy overcast day, if not prepare to be in full sun once you head downhill. It was a very quiet ride home little miss Sonic was out cold before I left the parking...
Read moreI was so excited to come here after everyone telling me it’s great! When we got there we weren’t sure which option to purchase. We drove an hour to get here and all I wanted was to go pick a pumpkin from the patch. I heard they had lots of stuff to do but when seeing what they had it was really all just for kids. Looking at the prices I choose the smallest one because once again I just wanted to do the pumpkin patch. The cheapest was $18 and I thought that was high but my mother and I decided to do it because we drove all the way here. After purchasing we found out that you also pay for the pumpkin you pick. These seeds cost cents to the dollar and my pumpkin cost $15. This means to do the bare minimum at this place it cost me $33 for a single pumpkin!? I understand paying more for more attractions but for a pumpkin patch and petting zoo it’s way over priced. The zoo is cheaper and has more animals. The pumpkin patch was picked over because the employees go through to pick the best ones to sell. Most the pumpkins were molding and rotted. We ended up walking to the patch because we waited 15 minutes for the wagon to come and it never did. The patch is down hill and very uncomfortable to walk down as it is slanted and rocky. Thankfully we got to wait for it pick us up from the patch in a shorter amount of time. Over all this place is not worth it if you don’t have kids. Way over priced. They say because it’s local you charge more but with the amount of people I witnessed there, they are making a killing. Family’s spend hundreds of dollars if they have more than 2 kids. $70 per person for a family of 4 is $280!? I shouldn’t have to pay $33 to pick a pumpkin. I can go to a local farm to pick a pumpkin for $10. Shouldn’t of drove an...
