Was a beautiful place with beautiful horses, but unfortunately the staff was completely untrained. Did not know how to properly fit riders into stirrups. Were aggravated that riders were "too demanding" when asked to be comfortably fitted into the saddle. THIS AS MOST KNOW POSSES EXTREME SAFETY RISKS TO BOTH THE RIDER AND THE HORSE. Finally, I was changed to a horse that they struggled with for 10 minutes, refusing to come out to the mounting block. Instead of bringing a different horse, they told me that he would be fine on the trail, just be careful he might throw you off. Was promised he would calm down on the walk, but after trying to push me into brush and rub me off of him every chance he got, they had me switch horses on the trail. When I tried to mount the horse, the saddle was pulling off to the side. Trail guide had no concern for the danger of a loose fitting saddle (to horse or rider.) Both guides giving different information. Incompetent. Unsafe. Do not go there unless you wish to feel at risk of injury (to yourself and/or horse) or obnoxious for asking to be seated properly.

Read moreI went here for my birthday and had an amazing experience!! The horses are very well taken care of and loved, the family who works and own the farm were very pleasant and generous (the woman gave me and my sister 2 HUGE bundles of basil when I commented how big and beautiful their basil plan was). They also had a pair of goats who were seriously the friendliest little guys ever! They just wanted pets!
As for the trail ride- WOW! Gorgeous views - corn fields, sunflower fields, a very short walk down the road before entering a woodsy path which opens up repeatedly into beautiful openings and meadows, we even crossed a rocky river! It was fantastic, and definitely would go here again! The whole experience felt very safe. We walked the horses the whole way, but i feel with the right group/experienced riders they may be okay with a mild...
Read moreMustang Meadow has been the BEST experience on a trail ride I ever had! Hands down. There is no other place around like this over 140 acre farm. Absolutely breathtaking fields, creeks, trails through woods and so much more! The horses are so well taken care of and so great. My daughters and keep coming back, just can’t get enough. We have done so many trails rides throughout CT and the US but this is our top place. The owners, Aaron & Angie are such fantastic down to earth people. The owners of the farm stop by to chit chat and are great. We absolutely love it here. We can’t wait to do a ride with the fall foliage and the winter snow, so excited. I could write 1000 great things about this place but would take too long. Thank you for being here, keep up...
