Silver Lake Park — Attraction in Oxford

Warning to ALL PARENTS: the splash pad has damaged and dangerous exposed metal on top of the center “log” that shoots water out. The top is broken that you cannot detect unless you walk right up to it and look on the top, which a kid running around would not notice nor wouldn’t be tall enough for persective to identify they 4in diameter jagged alon the entire circumferential surface of the metal. Plus there is water bubbling over making it very difficult to notice even as an adult. My son cut his hand. The secondary lifeguard was very helpful to us but said he didn’t have jurisdiction and to report to the guards up front. We drove up to disclose to the attendent at the gate so they would know of the danger and barricade it so that other children will be safe...she not only knew but was very rude and dismissive “why would a kid touch that, it’s broken?!? We know about this and have decided not to fix it for a couple of days.” This was appalling. More kids can get hurt and she didn’t care. It’s the center piece of the splash pad and any kid or adult that walks by and runs their hand on the equipment, which is standard in a splash pad, will be...

The place was easy to find. Make sure to purchase a parking pass online and get there early. Parking fills up fast. The community and staff seem very friendly. It has a nice park for kids to play as well as a splash park (great for beating the heat). They have swimming available and you can bring a small boat or kayak. You are also allowed to fish. Not too many spots to fish at though and the fish don't seem to bite. Barbeque pits are available and this is a great spot...

This place is awesome for kids and having a great family picnic. The beach area is clean, benches, a functioning splash pad and kids playground. And on top of this, the ice cream truck show up in the evening. The restroom situation is a bit iffy, but the porta-potty was cleaner than expected.

The only heads up is, it’s a paid entry in the park, not expensive though. They charge $7 per car. All in all definitely...
