Depending on the season and the recent rainfall or snow runoff, these falls can be quiet spectacular.
Over my many hikes up to the falls, I've seen them frozen solid with a bright blue color, the sound of water running behind a curtain of blue ice. I've seen them gushing and spraying the viewing bridge with a mist of water, and seen them barely running with piles of sticks and rocks laying at the bottom.
The walk up to them is peaceful and scenic. Its basically a dirt trail switchback through the woods. Its a moderate hike as far as difficulty and length, small children should have no problem, but it could be strenuous for the elderly.
I would estimate the hike to be about 20 minutes up, 15 minutes down. Maybe 0.15 miles each way. There are a few benches along the way so you can stop and rest, as well as restrooms located at the bottom parking lot. I would set aside 45 minutes for this stop.

There is a main train that goes on the left side of the river and a more precarious and slippery trail that goes in the right. However, both end up at the same location that looks up at the icy waterfall. All trails are well marked and start near the parking area which is just off the to the side of the road. I heard someone say that there might even be a one way bike trail near the area, but further investigation is needed. Overall a very beautiful place with information about the ecological cycles of the forest being displayed to help you appreciate the nature there. Itβs a very...
