Went to check it out seeing as it is a museum, it was free to get in and they had alot of displays, their train room is definitely something I would recommend everyone check out! Their mini model of the rail way is so cool and had so much detail, talked to the nice lady working their at the time and it was painted by a local artist which is really really cool, alot of there stuff is done by local artists, and they had alot of natural history, and even some information about the tribe that lived out here before the settlers, but not that much, they are working on getting more information about them, and the lady working had showed us some stuff we missed and gave us some really cool information about the items! I will say we will be DEFINITELY coming back again soon, it was a really cool place to check out and would recommend it to...
Read moreWe were happy to see the building was a decent size so we knew there would be lots to see. There are bronze sculptures out in the front as you walk to the front door. Someone greets you as you come in and there is a register book to sign in stating your name and city of origin. They have alot of information about the cotton industry that was a big thing up into the 1970's and the agriculture of the area during the mining for the war effort. There is also a room that is about the nuclear history in the area which is called the atomic room. Lots of visual representations that help explain a dark part of history. They accept donations as a way to stay open so please throw something in the pot to keep these great little treasures open for...
Read moreEnjoyable, small, local museum. Can easily spend an hour if you include visiting all of the historic buildings on the grounds. They have an interesting exhibit on the NV Test Site, which was definitely not impartial, but it was really well done. They also had a section on ham radios, with a working radio setup, which is a fun nontraditional way to use the museum space! They are currently finishing work on an exhibit related to the railroad, which looks like it will be great! Visiting the historic buildings, particularly the school and homes, was a highlight. Admission is free, but donations will definitely help them further enhance...
