Another great Lake Metropark. Whether you want to sit on a bench and look at Lake Erie and listen to the waves, have a picnic on one of the scattered tables or in the pavilion, take a nice walk on level crushed gravel paths, or watch a sunset, this is the perfect place for those activities.
The walking paths take you through wooded areas, grassy areas overlooking the lake, and areas with Meadows and wild bushes that are nice for bird watching or observing butterflies. If you pay attention you might even see some bald eagles by the shoreline.
There is a very nice pavilion with restrooms. Across from the pavilion you will see a set of steps that go down to the lake. The steps are not very steep and there are four or five small landings on the way down so it isn't too hard to get down next to the water. However the very last step is a lot higher when you climb back up from the beach. At the bottom you will see a lot of large rocks for erosion control and a small sandy strip that has quite a few rocks and sticks, so it's not great to use as a beach but more as a place to get a little closer to the water and observe the...
Read moreThe spot I went to seemed nice. Definitely pretty. We were just looking for some sort of way to visit the beach since the State Park was closed on Sunday, and this was a close location that showed up thanks to Google Maps. There was a big wooden set of steps to walk down that ran right into the beach. Not too much room to spread out on the sand, and it was a little cluttered with nature debris like large sticks, but it was awesome to walk next to the waves coming in. My mom actually got in the water since she was wearing her swimsuit but she didn't go out too far in fear of a strong current. Some other small kids were playing in the water too though, so it might...
Read moreThis was a really cool spot I would have never known about... Luckily, I met another cool Adventure Dad at the Holden Arbetorem, and he suggested we check it out, so we did, and we weren't disappointed! The tower is really neat with a great view over the lake. There's is a really easy walk down to the lake where literally every angle is picture perfect. Great spot to sit and relax, I wish we had more time when we stopped by, so next time, we'll be sure to plan on staying a bit longer. There are lots of really nice rocks. If you're one of those rock painters or collectors, here's a good spot to build your stash. It's definitely worth checking out. They have a...
