5 star I absolutely do not understand all these negative reviews. This is an old building, over 100 years old, there are bugs yes (stinkbugs, bees, flies, spiders, etc). Which is to be expected. We booked this place for our ceremony and reception. We showed up early Friday to set up, we finished about 4:30 p.m. Janie was there to greet us at 8 a.m. pass the key off, run through logistics, explain the garbage situation, etc. and then she left us to it. Her husband showed up few hours later and he offered to help us move tables and such out of our way. He mowed the grass. He offered advice. He helped us with trash. He moved his car that was in the driveway, he had the boat that was there moved and then he left us to it. Our wedding day was an absolutely beautiful day. The sun was out. The wind was calm but soothing. The decorations, the venue, the entire set up looked gorgeous. People raved about how gorgeous this venue is. We locked up after the wedding, came back sunday early and took everything down. Janie showed up and we exchanged the key and went on our way. If you are looking for a unique completely DIY blank slate venue that is affordable and gorgeous... this is it. The windows allow so much sunlight, the doors allow for a cross breeze, the grounds were great for us to have yard games during cocktail hour. I absolutely would...
Read moreThe venue could be a fantastic destination for weddings and such, but the owners need to invest some coin and get the place spruced up. Numerous broken windows, disgusting bathrooms that reek of urine, and a kitchen area out of Kitchen Nightmares. I was attending a wedding here and felt sorry for the caterers, having to work extra to clean the kitchen before they could introduce food. Dead flies and rodent feces covered the appliances. Not a place I'd want to serve food from, much...
Read moreAnchor Village is disgusting. The bathrooms are filthy and smell horrible. I walked into the kitchen and found dead flies and mouse droppings in several places. After that I could not eat the food brought in by the caterer for the wedding I was attending. I would not have an event at this place unless some serious improvements are made...
