Even with a Subaru and 4 wheel drive, I managed to get stuck after parking. Luckily, a friendly local assited with his truck

Palacios bay is loaded with Jack fish and schooling reds. Bring heavy rods with top water for the fight of ur life. These Jack's are very strong fish.

If you want to get away from most of civilization, this is a good place to go. It is remote, and it is the Texas coast at it's most untrampled, with exception to the border perhaps. It's not the cleanest beach, but it's sand is powdery though not sugary. You can drive on the beach. So, if you have a 4x4 you'll probably love the miles of shoreline...
