PEORY L'atelier Cake — Attraction in Palisades Park

My experience with Erika of Peory L’atelier Cake was absolutely wonderful from start to finish, and I would give her 100 stars if I could!! She was so kind and patient when I first reached out to her about the feasibility of transporting her cakes from New Jersey to Northern Virginia, where we live, for my daughter’s first birthday. She explained all the details at length about how transport would be possible with appropriate packaging, and I really appreciated her willingness to go the extra mile to make it happen, even with something as delicate and temperature sensitive as buttercream cakes. And once the design phase started, she was so attentive in listening to all my ideas and color schemes and willing to fully understand my vision for the cakes against the backdrop of my other decorations. She expertly guided me to understand what would good look design wise and color wise based on her professional opinion, and I’m so glad that I listened to her advice because the end results of my two-tier cake, smaller cake used as a smash cake, and matching cupcakes were even more beautiful and spectacular than I could have ever imagined!!! Everything about the cakes and the cupcakes were out of this world gorgeous!!!! Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful they were from all angles, and some even had to be convinced that the flowers were in fact buttercream and not fresh florals!! Thanks to Erika’s careful and meticulous packaging with dry ice sheets, all the cakes and cupcakes held up beautifully, and to take it a step further, they didn’t just look beautiful - they tasted incredible, too!!! There is a beautiful decadence to the cakes, but the flavors of the cake and fillings complement each other so well that they aren’t overly sweet or heavy. Just delicious. I can’t wait to order more cakes from Erika, and I’m so incredibly thankful to her and her amazing skills for making my vision of my daughter’s 1st birthday come to life in the most beautiful way!!! TLDR: Erika's cakes are undeniably beautiful. She includes you in co-creating the vision you want and is very transparent with pricing. I highly recommend trusting her with your special day.

I have been ardently following Erika's creations, hoping for a day to finally submit a request. With my parents' 35th anniversary, I finally got the chance to reach out and receive one of the best custom cakes yet.

For context, I am no stranger to ordering custom cakes and have used a number of big name patisseries and small businesses throughout the tristate area for years. One of the first things I have to highlight is her thorough and seamless process. She provides a link on her instagram (@peorycake) to submit a quote for interest and once you place a deposit, she sends an email regarding the overall cake design and color palette. Since florals are so personal to each person and designer, she provides instagram accounts where you can reference floral arrangements that best match her skills and your design needs. Once she processes those aspects, she follows up to confirm what the vision will include and a separate email on the pick up logistics, including address, time, and cake care (if you are requesting delivery, that's an option too!)

Secondly, the quality of the cake was perfect for a delayed presentation. I received the cake frozen the day before the cake was needed for the anniversary dinner. This meant that I kept the cake frozen overnight, brought it to the restaurant a couple of hours prior to dinner, asked for the restaurant to keep it thawing for an hour or so prior, and have it easily sliced as a dessert. By the time we were able to sink our forks in and enjoy the first bite, the buttercream and cake textures still had the highest integrity.

Lastly, the greatest compliment you can get from older Korean immigrant parents is 'oh this is very pretty and not too sweet'. Can't recommend her enough and look forward to using her services for another special...

So happy we chose PEORY for our wedding cake! Erika is so talented, kind, and professional. I fell upon her Instagram while looking for potential wedding cakes and immediately fell in love with her designs. Of course I was so excited when the window to request an order for my wedding month finally opened up! (I made sure to submit the Google form as soon as she was accepting August orders because she's so talented/popular that weekend availability goes fast!) Erika provided us with a thorough questionnaire to determine what kind of cake design we were looking for, and based on the information I provided she made a cake perfect for my wedding!

Not only was the cake absolutely beautiful with vibrant pastel colors and elaborate buttercream flowers surviving the drive from NJ to Brooklyn in summer heat, but it was also delicious. We got a medium two-tier cake with raspberry and earl grey, as well as chocolate cupcakes. We also paid for her weekend in-house delivery service so that she could set up the cake in our venue on wedding day. Earl grey was my favorite, but I received feedback that the others were delicious as well (unfortunately never got a chance to try the chocolate cupcakes myself). Erika arrived promptly at the scheduled time requested by our venue to deliver and set up the cake, and even provided us with a cake cutting guide and menu with all of the cake flavors. I will undoubtedly be looking for excuses to buy another cake from her in the future....
