Arastradero Preserve Vista Point — Attraction in Palo Alto

An open preserve with amazing views, and green pastures during the winter. try and go there when the skies are clear and you can see the Oakland bridge and most of the bay from up here.

Friendly for dog walkers, mountain bikers and short strolls. Parking can be scarce as it’s quite popular, there is some space for street parking.

Watch out for all the horse poop...

If you go out the back side of the parking lot instead of towards the bathrooms, you can cross arastradro to the main part of the preserve. Via this entrance there is more shade and narrower steeper paths, although also more evidence of horse traffic... Great place for a short mountain bike tour, about 1 hour . Not technical, but great views, some steep uphills, very doable for beginners. Watch out for pedestrians! Very busy park, parking lot is often full, option to park at PageMill Park & Ride and bike...
