The preserve is very close to my house and dog friendly. It’s also an excellent place to hike. There are a lot of trails within this preserve and you can pick your loop depending on how long you prefer to hike. The parking is free but limited space on weekends. Some of the trails are really really beautiful and scenic. You can take a good view from the hill top for the whole Bay Area.

Dogs are allowed but should be on leash. The dogs pop bags are not available here, please bring your own dog bags whenever you bring your dogs.

At the peak of the trail you get a beautiful view of the valley and the bay. There are bikers here too. The parking at the preserve is very limited and you might not find a spot during the weekends. But if you wait for a few mins, people coming back from their hikes might leave and you can find a spot then. Else you can park at the side of street a few meters away from the reserved...

I don't really know. Anyhow, if proximity is the main plus point here, the main down side (apart from the lack of challenge/variety and overall small size) is that it can be crowded. I don't think I've ever had a bad encounter on the trail here, but there tend to be a pretty large number of hikers out.

On a completely different note, if you are into bird watching, this is probably a pretty great...
