Best Time Ever! Palos Park Woods Swllows Cliff Stairs!
First time walking the stairs. These stairs are no joke. Tired! Good Tired, though.
Probably 100 or more steps. You don't have to go all the way to the top.There is a half way bridge with stairs going back down. And you start your climb again (I needed a half way before the half way!).
Not crowded, the turn over time is good. Stair climbers don't linger around. The stair climbers get it in and gone. Social distancing good.

Read moreWe were at the picnic shelter in the north woods. Was a great and spacious location with plenty of picnic tables and was nicely tucked into the woods.
There was however a HORRIFIC yellow jacket wasp problem. It wasn’t just the odd few you get from being outside . These things were EVERYWHERE. Like there were more wasps then flies and mosquitoes combined. We couldn’t eat because they were all over the food. Luckily no one got stung but people in our group had to sit out festivities in the car due to allergies. Relocate the nest away and the place...
Read moreThis place is gorgeous!! We went hiking early summer when the grounds were lush and green. I felt like I was on a movie. Each part of the forest we explored felt like a different world. The orange trail was rather intense but definitely a serious workout that you'll feel accomplished to finish. We went in during the pandemic so the parking lots were closed off. It made for a congestion free, quiet experience. I recommend going on weekdays or anytime that's not peak hours...
