The Covered Wagon stays at @isinglass.estate ✨ 🛌🏼 Talk about a unique lodging experience! The covered wagons at Isinglass Estates in LaCygne, KS are anything but ordinary. The reproduction Conestoga Wagons have bathrooms, a/c and heat, and private outdoor kitchens and fire pits. 🐺 I fell asleep to the sounds of coyotes howling, cows mooing, and owls hooting. And the views of the stars on a clear, prairie night are incredible. Not something I get to experience often at home! 🐎 Guests get access to the 600-acres estate's amenities, including fishing, hiking, vineyards, a petting zoo, horseback riding, carriage rides, yoga, and their restaurant and tasting room. ________________________ #hosted #ToTheStarsKS #Kansas #fieldsandheels #airbnb #agritourism #kansasroadtrip #visitKansas #mwtravel #midwesttravel #TravelKansas #JamieOnTheRoad #isinglassestate #coveredwagon #airbnbexperience #uniquestays #midwestvacation

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place! Our family was in town for a wedding close by and our lodging did not work out. The owners of Isinglass Estate came through for us with last-minute accomodations at their lovely cottage and bunkhouse. It is located on property with a private pond and trails to explore other ponds or the river. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable, even re-installing an A/C unit in the window of the loft after business hours. That evening we had the pleasure of dining outdoors at the winery at sunset. We enjoyed the darling baby pigs running about and the green expansive view while sampling various tasty starters and flatbreads. The caprese salad was especially remarkable. We also had a whiskey flight sampler, beer, and some of their nice wines. I personally loved the "Ransom" red blend. The tasting room is large and upscale in decor. I wish we had been able to spend time there relaxing and tasting the wines, but wedding events kept us quite busy. The best part of the evening was the interaction with the owner. He spent time visiting with us and sharing the story of how this amazing business came about. It's a lovely story of a vision come to life that involves their whole family, with their children working in the family business as well. To top off the "above and beyond service" provided by the owners - they even found and mailed a piece of jewelry that I accidentally left in the house where we stayed overnight. The jewelry had sentimental value and it meant a lot to me that he took the time and effort to do that. This spot is an oasis of sophistication in a small-town rural area. I highly recommend you check out this rare gem!

What a fantastic visit! Let me start by staying I’m a very casual winery go-er. I’ve been to a couple here and there, but I’m very much a novice. That being said, this has been one, if not the, favorite of my grape induced trips. The staff was knowledgeable about their entire processes, and were lovely about answering my questions! The wine really good and though the options weren’t really extensive, they were all very delicious. If you’re not a wine drinker, they had a plethora of other options and nibbles to keep you satisfied. As for the place itself, it was clearly very new, tidy, and just had an all around good modern vibe. The bathrooms were clean and fit the modern aesthetic. Seating was more than enough outdoor and indoor! The environment was a great balance of relaxing and family friendly. We had a couple kids running around, playing yard games, and an always welcome roaming animals (holding a baby goat was definitely a highlight for me). The owner came out and spoke to my group while I was away, but they relayed how friendly and welcome he was. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. Even if you’re not a big “rural area” person, or even if you are, it’s worth the stop in and give them try. Make sure to say hi to Mojito the mini horse and Findley the Yak too!

This place is absolutey AmaiZing from A to Z! We originally booked this place through AirBNB for our drive from South Texas back to Minnesota. Isinglass was our second layover. It was a wonderful expierience from our first steps inside the tasting room until we left.

We were greeted by our hosts within a minute or 2 of stepping in the tasting room. They were so gracious to us and accomidating. The owners where there watching the football game along with their parents. There was also another couple there to watch the game and have some wonderful wine.

We purchased from the food truck a wonderful cheese tray and a very tasty flat bread. My wife had a really nice wine flight and I was happy to see they had some bottled beer.

Both owners were very nice and spoke with us about the winery and what they do on the farm. They told us about 3 little pigs that were recently born. The stories they had were facinating and very nice.

When we completed our meal, Destiny escorted us out to one of the wagons that we would be staying in for the night. Truth be told, I was really sceptical about staying in a wagon with a cloth top. I thought it would be cold at night. The photos online make it look a little smaller than what it really is. We had plenty of room to walk around and make ourselves comfortable. I was wrong. These wagons are well built and so warm. The bed was extreemly comfortable. We both had our best nights sleep in 4 days here.

At night we even heard some coyotes howling. With the cloth top we thought they were fairly close. We still felt very secure and fell asleep to their howl.

In the morning the water for the shower was nice and hot. They had coffee available along with having 2 HUGE blueberry muffins, milk and orange juice.

On our way out the sheep and pigs greeted us. We had to stop and give them a pet before leaving.

Thank you all for such a wonderful expierience. We will definitaly save this place for future trips. We have also told friends about it as well.

Thank you for being the...

My wife and I were looking for a place to spend New Year's Eve with our infant daughter, brother-in-law, his wife, and two small children. We live in the middle of Kansas City and wanted to find a place quiet and out of the way, where we wouldn't have to worry about noise from our children or from neighbors. Searching Airbnb for cottages/wineries we came across this place. Boy, we're glad we did!

If you're looking for what we were, it really doesn't get much better than the Cottage at Isinglass. It's spacious and nice! We were impressed with how well the whole place was put together, and still the owner told us they were in the middle of upgrading it even further. It has an awesome deck with a fire pit, and a personal, small lake you can fish and swim in (although it wasn't the time of year for us to do that.)

On top of this, they have a tasting room at the winery about a quarter-mile from the cottage. It was perfect to be able to get out of the house and get a couple of drinks, while the kids could eat, see the animals and play. It was extremely kid friendly. The tasting room is huge and we never had a problem getting sat. The food and drinks were delicious and exactly what we were looking for.

We'll be back, especially because it's such an easy drive from the middle of the city. If you want seclusion, plus the ability to take a short drive to appreciate a nice winery, do yourself a favor and book this place. By the way, call them directly before booking with a third-party. You'll be...
