Miola Lake — Attraction in Paola

This lake/recreation area has grown quite a lot since I started fishing there in the mid 90s. I can now catch several varieties of fish (bass, catfish, crappie) that are big enough to keep. There is also now a boat ramp and clubhouse. The only drawback I have found is extremely rude jet skiers who can't seem to understand that close to the shore in rocky areas is not good for the fishermen, nor is it safe for the other people boating or...

Our family has driven well out of our way for the past several years to watch the Fourth of July fireworks display at Lake Miola. The fireworks are beautiful, the lake hells to moderate the summer heat and the kids can even swim before it gets dark. There is room to spread out so the chairs and snacks still allow room for children to run and catch fireflies or play night soccer without distressing other people...

They have the best walking trail here. Granted it's a long walk all the way around but it's an amazing trail and a pretty awesome lake to camp at as well.
