Campgrounds were clean and well managed. Safety was great during the day, police patroled often. It was, for the most part, quiet until it wasn't as this is the local beach afterall. During the weekdays it was great but by the weekend it filled up quickly. The camp host was a lovely man who was very informative and friendly, we enjoyed his time and effort immensely. Fishing for catfish, this is the place! We had paid for a waterfront space that was on a tight peninsula and, unfortunately, in the early evening, we had a family walk past our truck, right thru our space and fish like we weren't even there. We had a tent set up as well as chair, etc. with our dog leashed by our side, and they did not care. They were loud and rude and brought 4-5 kids while we were trying to enjoy the quiet. To be clear, to enter this particular campsite, you had to park and walk behind the narrow passage, one way in and out, so it was a very invasive and inappropriate experience. We should have probably contacted the host as they woke up our sleeping child being very loud, but we chose not to as they didn't seem like the kind of folks you would want to anger. The beach area at the main part of the park had showers, food, a cute store, great staff and was very fun! Town is a short 20 minute drive for essentials, and Mount Magazine, the trails, Lodge, and state park information and small gift shop are a 10 minute drive. The highest peak in Arkansas trail was close and a nice hike. But it offered no view as it's a very wooded area. The lake views were spectacular! Lightening bugs, crickets, etc, made it...

This campground was a delightful place. Great views. Nice camp sights a lot the lake. I'm not 100% positive but they did not have full hookup sights as far as I know. They sell fire wood at the front. I'm giving this a 4 star review because I had no complaints other then the fact that they had no shower houses on the property. This sucked after 4 days of camping. Fortunately if you go up the mountain about 7 miles there is shower houses available for free across the street from the Mt. Magazine...

Nice place clean but I think it's wrong that they charge for every separate thing for Instinct they they charge for camping they charge for fishing and they charge for swimming, then on top of that they charge people for fire wood. I believe if your gonna pay for camping at a place you should get charged one amount But not charged for fire wood that's just crazy. I always thought going camping all that was included that's the hole thing bout going camping . To have fun. Camping,...

Love this place. There are great views. Wonderful sunrises over the lake. I am blessed to see this view on my way to work. Can you find the picture with an eagle, that I just happened to captured in a photo?
