Amazing fall color! The trail starts at the Bonanza Flat Conservation area parking lot. You cannot start at the Little Joe Trailhead because parking is not allowed along the side of the road. Parking enforcement came by and ticketed everyone, $200 tickets. So park in the lot, just up the hill from the trailhead. It’s adds maybe a quarter mile extra. Dogs are allowed on Little Joe Loop, but not allowed on Bonanza Flat trail.
Once you get to the bottom of the hill to cross the road in the cross walk, then the trail is a one mile loop. It is very flat and an easy stroll.
The quaking aspens are stunning for fall! It was dark golden yellow and orange tips. You walk into the trees for half the trail and the other half is through the meadow where you come to the overlook of the conservation area. Then it loops back to the cross walk and back up the Bonanza Flat Trail...
