Lovely, quiet forest with accessibility for ATVs, dirt bikes, and dirt roads for highway vehicles. Hiking trails including NCT. Several free camp sites, some with latrines and others with just a firepit. City folk please be aware that you won't have perfect internet / cell signal out here, and there will be bugs. Wildlife you may encounter include whitetail deer, black bears, timberwolves, coyotes, owls, and plenty game birds and fur bearers. Some of the small lakes / large ponds do have fish in them. I've never had a theft occur here yet, which is more than I can say about more popular places in the area. I will say, you can hear the highway to some extent nearly everywhere, and it's rare to go all day without hearing some gun somewhere; there are also a lot of places to shoot, including a gravel pit that sometimes has makeshift targets set up.
