Beautiful day of riding the trails. Trails can be narrow through some and maybe should be one way. Lots of little hills and turns. Mostly dry trails when i was there in the fall. Very shaded. Not very many placecs to lodge on the trail.

Only place we found that not only boasted about dispersed camping, but also had a lot of clearings premade, just for that.... We love it, except for the mutant mosquitoes and biting flies 🙄 Mosquito tent is a must have in the summer! 💯

North country trail goes through and there are a lot of nice small likes to hike around. A great place to see beaver porcupine and other critters

Lovely, quiet forest with accessibility for ATVs, dirt bikes, and dirt roads for highway vehicles. Hiking trails including NCT. Several free camp sites, some with latrines and others with just a firepit. City folk please be aware that you won't have perfect internet / cell signal out here, and there will be bugs. Wildlife you may encounter include whitetail deer, black bears, timberwolves, coyotes, owls, and plenty game birds and fur bearers. Some of the small lakes / large ponds do have fish in them. I've never had a theft occur here yet, which is more than I can say about more popular places in the area. I will say, you can hear the highway to some extent nearly everywhere, and it's rare to go all day without hearing some gun somewhere; there are also a lot of places to shoot, including a gravel pit that sometimes has makeshift targets set up. Don't even bother during deer season, you'll wish you didn't waste the gas to fight for a spot. There's scarcely a place to...

Martineau Recreational Trails in Paul Bunyan State Forest offer excellent Class I & II ATV trails, plus many miles of forest roads for OHVs, and a bonus of over 90 miles of OHM trails. Be warned that the OHM only trails are for experienced motorcycle riders due to the high level of difficulty in some areas. There is a good full menu and beverage restuarant and campground located on the south side of the forest. Trails also connect...

This is not the headwaters of the Mississippi River like some reveiws suggest! Enjoy this park in all seasons as each has its own unique beauty & animal activity, make sure you have a current paper map & plenty of daylight to explore! Lots of snowmobiling, bicycle & hiking trails. There are also campsites, again do some research to get that info. as this park covers a...
