Lark Cake Shop Pasadena — Attraction in Pasadena

I did not have the best experience here. I came to buy a few cupcakes and when I first came in, there was only one employee working and she was on the phone. She just looked at me as I came in. It sounded like she was having a conversation with a friend. She looked angry that I had walked in. Then she just sat there looking at me as I stood before the display and didn’t bother to help me or ask me if I had been there before. I should have just left but I didn’t. I had to say hi twice before she acknowledged me. I bought the peanut butter cupcake and the red velvet one. They both were just ok. The peanut butter one was terrible, me and my friend really didn’t finish it. The chocolate was terrible and the frosting just tasted refrigerated. Definitely not worth the price. It's a small shop! Located near Millie's. Came here today at 10am but they advised that will open 30 mins later due to inventory. That's okay! I got 9 cupcakes including a gluten free one for a birthday party! The service was friendly and quick but honestly the cupcakes weren't that great. My party advised they were dry & I agree. The flavor was there but the cake was dry & I left them out at room temp like directions say for a hour before serving but the frosting was a bit hard. They have a main location in silver lake that they bake their cupcakes and cakes.

I love a good cupcake and the folks at Pasaden's "other" cupcake shop recognize me as soon as I walk in! Frankly, Lark is much closer to where I live so of course, I visit there now and again. I ordered a small cake for a friend's birthday in February because I love their cupcakes and thought how can you go wrong with a cake? It was definitely on the expensive side almost $40 for a tiny cake that only serves about 6 people. I have to say, the cake was terrible! How can a chocolate and vanilla cake be so flavorless I wondered? I'd say if you visit here stick only...
