I took a walk in this little park while on a trip. It has plenty of picnic tables, parking and river side views. It was late August and the weather was very nice after a significant heat wave. Still the grass and trees appeared healthy in spite of that heat. Part of an area I walked was obviously used to set up a tepee, but it was not present when I visited. There are several places to dock along the shore which is great if you are on a small boat fishing on the Columbia River. Our tour group had a large bus which took us around the area. Read moreI was truly Interested in getting to see this park as I used to live an hour South of here and had never visited it before. I was a little disappointed in trying to see the confluence of the two rivers because there is a somewhat obstructed view. I would strongly suggest that some engineers come out and build a 6 story watchtower there at the point. It would sure make a person feel like they have a better view that way. Read moreA gem of a state park that is very under utilized which makes it perfect for those who don't like big crowds. Very well maintained and definitely a great place to get off those cell phones and relax in nature.
I've seen a lot of animals including turkeys, all kinds of beautiful birds, osprey, coyotes, eagles, hawks to name a few.
A very historical park you will be amazed by the canoes carved from large heavy trees and you can hike, bike, fish, bring kayaks or your boat as there's a boat launch.
This is where the Snake River meets the Columbia so expect some great fishing.
