Buckaroos 360 Dog Care — Attraction in Pauls Valley

I contacted Buckaroo 360 in October 2022 for guidance & training with my then 12 week old mini Bernadoodle, Mabel. My goal is to make a therapy dog out of her and share a little sunshine by visiting hospitals, nursing homes, etc. I had researched some highly recommended online training programs but quickly discovered my attention span required live, in-person sessions. 😊 Buckaroo 360 caught my eye during an internet search because therapy dog training was specifically listed among the services offered. I chose to begin with private training sessions at my home (1 hour/week). Johnathon did a thorough assessment of Mabel and an overview of his training philosophy & style. He believes in positive reinforcement as the main tool for teaching commands, etc., which is a style that I totally agree with. We started with simple commands and I worked with Mabel on my own between our weekly sessions. Then each week we built on those basic commands. Johnathon also did some work with us in public settings to work around distractions (Home Depot is a favorite spot). It was amazing to see how, with a little daily effort and consistency, my pup responded to the training. It is also important to note that Johnathon was very patient with me as as well, helping to guide me through the process of being the handler of a future therapy dog.
