Cacapon Lake — Attraction in Paw Paw

Cacapon lake is a lovely little lake with swimming, fishing, and boating. There is a space to rent boats. It has a beautiful view. It has a playground, waterfall, and hiking trails close by. The kids enjoy the water and the sand at the beach area. There is a snack bar and bathhouse at the lake.

If decide to visit the beach and walking is difficult, then would suggest parking by the playground and/or ccc shelter (also, there is limited handicap parking by the snack bar, crossing over a tiny bridge by the playground area). Are lifeguards supposed to take 20-minute breaks every thirty minutes, cause the last few times I went there that's what's been happening, it wasn't like that before. if your gonna do that cut the price in half cause that cuts out almost half the time you spend in the water every time they do that. Also taking a 20-minute break thirty minutes before closing is unfair. Please look into This. I understand they seem young so maybe they are required to, but there are two there breaks that can alternate and they chat with each other the whole time not paying attention to anyone...

Beautiful park, free entry, adventurous gravel road for peak from mountain. If you love fishing this lake is awesome, but there is a limit how many you cane take it with you....
