Although you would have to walk some distance but when you do walk through it, you won't regret it. I love the beautiful gazebo that overlooks the beautiful pond on one side and a small waterfall underneath on the other side. The park provides chairs to sit and enjoy the beautiful view. If your lucky, you may even get a chance to see a water lily. 😍😍😍 I'm an event planner, I always imagine decorating that gazebo for a beautiful engagement proposal or a mini wedding ceremony. This place is definitely not for kids though, they're no playground, so definitely not a kids place. I would recommend this place for for couples. Like I said before, rather you are looking for a place to propose or a small wedding ceremony or even looking for a place to take beautiful photos, this is definitely the place. Its bigger than what I'm describing it to be so don't think it's not worth checking out. They also have trail walks. 😍😍😍 Love this place. Oh you may want to put on some bug repellent lotion or spray, the park is full of bugs especially those annoying yet...
Read moreWhen the park rangers really care it shows. This magnificent park is meticulously maintained with love. Perfect accessible structures and paths in the main mill village area can take you back to the peace and tranquility of America in the 1800’s.
And the rhododendrons. Oh the rhododendrons. My introduction was to come upon a path called “Azalea Way” that is lined with old growth rhododendrons of every flavor. From small leaf Carolina rhodies to giant Rhododendron Maximum there is a great collection. I saw Nova Zembla, Chinoides, lots of Catawba in pink and white, and probably some purples like Lee’s Dark Purple and probably Boursault. Hard to say 100% as only the Maximum we’re in bloom on this July 4th.
The Staircase trail loops around but includes an easy climb up to the ridge of a natural cliff that seems unique to Central Mass.

The boys enjoyed popping open milkweed pods, running through the field, finding good hiking sticks, checking out birdhouses, giving the dog a good long hike, and even finding some perfectly moss covered rocks to take a break. By choosing to go the route we did meant we only ran into a handful of families and could enjoy most of our walk mask free while having a chance to take in some of the fall beauty...
