I feel like a fool for not researching this place before I got a puppy here and I'd give negative stars if I could.
Bought my little boy in Feb of 2021 and he was literally the only puppy that would come anywhere near me. They were all terrified which should have been an indication itself that things are not run humanely or properly here. So far, this poor poochon pooch has had myriad issues and has cost me thousands of dollars. One of his bottom canine teeth didn't grow in at all, and all the teeth next to it are little nubbins. He has awful allergies and is constantly scratching, and has already developed a cherry eye before age 2. He is terrified of everything but me, and is even scared of me if I do something he isn't used to or that catches him off guard. Very smart and has learned a bunch of tricks and commands, but because he was not socialized at all in the first 6 months of his life when dogs absorb all new experiences, he is perpetually scared and it's heartbreaking. He terrorizes my senior dog in an effort to feel in control, out of fear, he marks everywhere CONSTANTLY, and barks at anyone who comes in the door as if they may murder me. Even people he has known since I got him and been around frequently. I am an experienced dog owner and trainer, and have even worked with and owned multiple rescue dogs with past traumas, but he is something else. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, the negative behavior keeps getting worse because of his fear. I had a consultation with a professional trainer yesterday and he told me I have done everything right but because he didn't have any socialization and wasn't exposed to anything or anyone in his most formative months (birth to 6 months), it will take hours and hours and thousands of dollars ($4,500 to be exact) to help him overcome his bad start and that might not even work. The people who own this place should be ashamed of themselves, and I see that they have no google account for the actual puppy mill business, I assume because there would be a ton of reviews like this. Do you people realize you're setting up these dogs for lifetimes of upset, fear, and issues? Do you realize you're sending them out to families who need comfort from a sweet pet who are now just constantly anxious about the poor babies? Because that's him and that's...
Read moreI bought my jack Russell terrier around Christmas time this past winter and he was 6 months old at the time. I didn’t see where or how he was kenneled but I can only imagine he was alone and/or had absolutely no interaction with humans for his first 6 months of life. The first few months were typical puppy adjustments to a new home and environment, he’s been around my family way too many times to count and does good with other dogs. He absolutely adores me but his separation anxiety is a bit much. His anxiety in general is just over the top. But that’s manageable. At this point, he is now one years old, absolutely terrified of men. He’s been around my 3 adult brothers, my boyfriend, male cousins, my dad way too many times to count and is absolutely petrified of men. We've tried everything to accommodate him when men are around, slow introductions, treats, toys, gentle pets and touches, playing fetch, just relaxing in the same room in general, etc. He barks aggressively and will not let any male touch him or get close to him. I’ve only seen dogs act like this when they’ve came from questionable situations and bad homes. He shakes as if he expects some kind of wrath from men even though no one really minds him and mind their business when my dog is around. He does great with women but his fear with men is absolutely terrible and I’ve read other reviews with this breeder about how their dogs are terrified of men as well. Take in mind, I’ve had dogs my whole life, of all breeds and sizes and temperaments. I have a degree in animal science and animal behavior. I know the signs of trauma and neglect clear as day… He also is extremely difficult to potty train. It could be his breed, Russell terriers are a bit difficult in this area to train, but it’s part of his general fear and anxiety and he just urinates everywhere, on everything, even when I try to put his leash on, he sprays urine everywhere. Even after 6-7 months of love, routine, stability, and being in a happy home. This dog was and still is traumatized from his first 6 months of life and I’m doing my best to unwind it all. Be weary of this breeder, read reviews, research your breed of interest, definitely don’t be surprised when your pop develops genuine fear and anxiety...
Read moreAlthough I absolutely love my two puppies I adopted from Valley View Puppies (A Maze'n Farmyard LLC) approximately two months ago, I very strongly suspect that this is a puppy mill, selling their dogs at what appears to be a family friendly venture, but is actually far from. Again, I suspect this. I am not stating this as a matter of fact. From the day I brought home one of my puppies, I was unaware that her grooming had been so severely neglected, that she was matted to the point where the groomer had no choice but to completely shave her. As a result of the severe matting, her skin was very irritated underneath (matting is ideal for ticks and fleas to hide / become trapped, thereby leaving prevention almost useless. It also prevents air from getting to the pups skin and can restrict blood flow). My pup had worms (the dewormer helped but ultimately is not a true solution for a pelted animal, as the cycle is likely to continue until the pelted coat, holding the tick/flea, which leads to the works, is removed). It’s painful for the dogs to have their pelted coats shaved. And while I get that they likely look cuter to most unshaved, which is also likely better for business, it breaks my heart to know my poor babies were neglected when it came to grooming for so long. I was told the day I adopted them, by a staff member, that I had to have them groomed about every 3 months. The groomer stated for my pups’ breed(s), this was in no world likely true and in fact, half the time. I was also very surprised that the store was so quick to sell me the pups the same day. There was no background check, questions as to my salary or ability to provide them a safe and loving home, references, etc. All I’m saying is that after researching the signs of a puppy mill now, I found almost all to align with my...
