Friendliest little town in America. Single unit dwellings only; no apartments, duplexes, etc. People still walk downtown. Kids walk to school, dominate the streets with their bicycles, sit on their front porches of an evening, plant gardens, raise roses and azaleas, and foist the kids off on the neighbors for dinner and sleepovers. Last year the High School was #2 in AAA State basketball, football, and academics. The community heavily involves itself in all their schools, finds a reason to have a parade about once a month, and has a tradition of different groups being at the doors to greet the kids in the morning, as they arrive at school. The Mayor and city employees dressed up once, the police department, fire department, and others went and jumped in the lake, in January, iirc, to raise funds for kids projects. And my mom who has limited mobility just watched from the car!! We also saw people on horseback...
