Peacham Pond is a beautiful, quiet place. There is not too much activity on the water. We can feel safe taking out our younger kayakers, even my 6 yo grandson on his first solo voyage. We can stand in the water and in a few minutes the small fish will come around to explore. If we stay still they will come right up and touch our feet. It is a wonderful pond to kayak. Read moreDid a kayak here in late June on a cool day under the threat of showers. The lake was very quiet but I bet it is a madhouse on a summer weekend given the number of large boats to be seen. The lake has been enlarged by a dam and so there are many hazards (rocks and stumps) closer to shore. Of note we saw 11 loons though the boat check person said 17 had been sighted that spring.
