HORRIBLE!! We showed up as soon as they opened. We were behind 10 people. All from the same family. It took 36 minutes to get to the booth to pay. I can tell you why..Think the SLOTH in Zootopia. Without a greeting and /or smile. I have never seen a staff ( the entire staff ) literally as slow and unbothered. Nor as rude. Also, it's filthy in the bathroom & locker room area. I am perplexed, cuz I got there as the doors were opened. Took 25 minutes to get a locker. Lines are long, & some kiosks are broken. I have already wasted 1 hour, and I was the second family in line at opening time. I then waited in line to get 2 slices of pizza & 2 drinks for roughly 35 minutes. I had TWO people in front of me. Again, no smile, no greeting, no "thank you". I was also given 2 drinks that had soda ALL over the cups. The pizza & drink combo was $7.00. It's a slice of pizza equivalent to 2-3 regular slices. So it's not as expensive as people like to say it is on here. It also tasted pretty decent. Definitely worth $7.00. The wait makes it not even worth it in the end. I've worked these places before. There were multiple employees in the concession stand, all very nonchalant, no haste at all. Next, ( my 2 sons & I ) head up the line. We wait. It was about 25 minutes. Get to the top, & yet another unbothered teen boy says " You have to have 2 people " because I was alone. It was just me & my 2 sons. I know for a fact I have seen others go alone many times, as well as I have been alone many times...but rules are rules so I say " Okay...how can I get down?" He just shrugged at me. My sons then ask him how I can get down. He again simply shrugs. Umm....okaaay. So I finally just fought my way thru the crowd that was now waiting in line. There were 2 lines on the trail, along with the big floats. It was very difficult to get down. But whatever. So I see family who have just arrived, they are waiting in line for food. Which took FOREVER. I try to use the sanitizer station - Completely empty. The outside showers ....all but THREE are broken. One of those three barely worked. Trash was everywhere. No employees cleaning, but lots aimlessly walking around. Not enough floats. Few available. You had to wait & fight for your chance to get one when someone comes off a ride. Very difficult. People get out, keep it & go right back up, or give it to a family member. While waiting on a float as I have found a #2 since my family has arrived, & can now go down the slides, I see 3 different people coming down alone on the same slide I couldn't ride alone on. Wow. At this time, I've been there 3 hours, & still not been on a single ride. I'm pouring sweat & I'm hot. Up we go & wait in line & I finally get up there & have myself a 10 second ride. Also, about 1/2 of the floats were about 1/2way deflated. The workers didn't care. The lazy river was nice, but again, not even HALF of the floats that were needed were available to the customers. Most of the people in it were just having to walk in it. Including me. This defeats the purpose of a "floating river". I go back to see my 15 year old son sitting alone at the food area, crying. He cannot find my 17 year old, & he wants to go home. Why? They will not allow him to go down any rides with his t-shirt on. Yet, a member of our group had a shirt on, and he rode every single ride. I also saw many older Ladies wearing shirts/leggings on the rides. We look for an hour for my son. Prior to that, my youngest son had looked for him for over an hour, too. Now, you can't ride rides alone right? Right. So where could my son even be? We searched everywhere. I'm pointed by staff to a woman who was mad that I asked for her help or even spoke to her. She finds out my son is 17, she laughed at me to my face. She refused any assistance. Kept calling for a lost adult on the walkie. When I corrected her, she would ignore me, keep talking, while laughing. I just wanted them to call his name on the speaker. They refused. I finally found him. I left crying. I've never seen...
Read moreThere was more bad than good. I took 15 people and rented 2 large cabanas. Everyone had a meal and drinks. I spent over $1600 total. I picked the Cabanas in the back to try to get out of the busy areas. I had to call to confirm the reservation because I never got the confirmation email. Then bought tickets, again no email. Another phone call. I used Facebook messenger to ask some important questions about our visit. I was on the website multiple times, 3 phone calls and several messages back and forth and not once was it mentioned the entire area I was booking in the POOLS WERE CLOSED. Yes, that's right the pools were closed off no. You could not use them. For that reason alone, I will not be returning. $1600 and we couldn't even swim where we were. Lack of life guards is what I was told. I paid $230 per hour they were open. That $230 would have paid for 23 employees for 7 hours at $10 an hour. What I paid alone would have paid 23 people making $10 an hour and the that, there was a fence barrier up preventing even entry to the beach area. That fence appears to have been up for some time. So they've had time to notify people spending money there that the area is closed off. There could have been something put up on the website or one of the several people I spoke with could have mentioned it. Also, I paid the same price as people did who booked Cabanas on open pools. I booked several weeks in advance, had anyone bothered with notice, I had plenty of time to change Cabanas. Next failure was in getting food. We placed our order with out server. 1.5 hours later not only did we still not have our food, the server took the 4 credit cards my group had. If we had wanted to go buy the food ourselves, we couldn't even do that. I walked the whole park trying to find her to get our cards and she was no where to be found. It took me 3 calls to the park to get someone on the phone who finally promised to check into it. 30 minutes later, our food comes. It was correct and good but our drinks were completely melted and awful. They had sat that whole time, in the sun waiting on our food. Our food was luke warm too. Had it been brought in a remotely decent time, and been warmer and our drink not have been ruined I would say it was worth the money. Next, the concrete around the park was 130°. They had what appears to be several sprinklers in the walkways to wet them, to cool them. None were on. We had several 1st and 2nd degree burns on the feet of our group members who didn't know to bring water shoes. Why have the sprinklers of you aren't going to use them? I went around the lazy river 10-15 times. Not once was I able to get a tube. The have 1 for every 100 or so people entering. It's not near as fun without a tube to float on. The same thing for the wave pool. 1 tube for every 50 or so people. We did the wave pool several times and again were not able to ever get a tube. They just didn't have enough, period. It was not busy or crowded at all. The heat index today was well over 100°. I am so grateful they let us bring in coolers. We would have had heat strokes if we had to wait hours for water. This place has potential, if it was managed better. I just won't be back for a 2nd chance. I wanted to love...
Read moreWe decided to make a quick trip to geyser falls. We planned for a Tuesday. Our days off work. After booking the cabana and hotel room I started reading reviews and got worried. We decided to go ahead and move ahead with our plans. We left early morning Tuesday to get there by opening time. We’re a little over 3 hrs away. Anyways we get there and purchased our tickets at the gate. I was thinking it would be cheaper at the gate rather than online because there were service fees online but the ticket price was higher at the gate and still had service fees for whatever reason. Anyways to really address the negative reviews…..yes it does seem to be ran completely by teenagers. But I didn’t find them to be disrespectful in anyway. Our cabana host seemed to be new and didn’t know if they had bottle water or not but she’s once again a kid. It isn’t a big deal. She was sweet. She got things in a timely manner. Ugh I sound so spoiled writing this 🤷🏽♀️…. But honestly this was a big splurge for us!! And she checked in often. By the way. Please tip your cabana hosts!!! I do wish the cabanas were closer to things. It is quite a walk every time you want to go to the lazy river. But overall the large cabanas were very nice. I’m not sure if we would get them again for our family of 5. Maybe if we brought more with us. Like grandparents and such but it was definitely a perfect way to cool off without being in the water. Which brings me to another tip. Wear shoes that can be easily taken off!!! We didn’t the first few hours. But after noticing the spouts that are supposed to water the concrete we’re clogged we had blisters on our feet. But that is totally our fault. We should have known better. Me and my kids enjoyed the lazy river and the geyser falls play area the most. Adults can even go down the little slides. Just be prepared to have a lot of water in your face. And do not wear expensive jewelry. I lost my expensive nose piercing stud going down a slide. Thankfully I had a backup to pop in. Anyways after the fun filled day at the park we were scheduled to stay at the silver star but one short phone call later we were able to move to the dancing moon. We wanted to be where we could easily have dinner. The hotel was nice. We had a rowdy neighbor and honestly I was worried my loud kids would bother others but once in the rooms you couldn’t hear a thing from other rooms. So also highly recommend the hotel. The next morning we got up and went on a search for breakfast. If you’re still reading this far. I highly highly highly recommend passing the huddle house and going a little farther down to house of pancakes. It’s a little hole on the wall breakfast place. Locally owned and the best breakfast ever. They even have their own syrups made in town. The strawberry infused syrup was amazing. Service was also amazing. Anyways after this novel of a review. I don’t really have any complains. This place is in the middle of nowhere and I’m surprised it was actually staffed so well. Whenever I had a question for the lifeguards they answered respectfully and professionally. We will...
