This is an excellent park, but seriously BEWARE OF SNAKES back on the trails. I saw 3 nonvenomous snakes and one cottonmouth sun bathing during one hour long visit. Furthermore, two separate strangers took out their ear buds and stopped me to warn me about the snakes. It is a water-laden area (aka muddy almost always), so I can't say I'm surprised. However, I AM disappointed the snakes aren't controlled better. I'm all for preservation of nature (leave only footprints, take only memories and lots of photos lol), but this could be an infestation hazardous to the public. I hope the park managers take notice.

Update: went back a couple weeks ago (early Dec). Colder weather. Snakes were not visible, likely in brumation, too chilly even for sunbathing. But AGAIN I was warned by three different park goers to still be watchful for snakes. I added a screenshot of how to tell a poisonous cottonmouth (aka water moccasin) from a nonvenomous snake. Regardless, leave any snake in...

In September of 2023 I started walking and I made a plan that I will explore all of the parks with walking trails within a 20 mile radius of 77581. So far have been to 7 parks and I like this park the best for the following reason. ONE, This park connects to two other parks by a walking slash biking trail. And they are all a mile apart from each other. So depending on your goal you have the stretch of the trail to challenge yourself. TWO, this park has a small gym where you can work out your whole body muscles. So if you are looking for body toning you can do that here. THREE, you can walk run or bike and even bring your furry friend along. There are plenty of benches along the trail in case you want to catch a breath. Has nice clean restrooms. Plenty of grounds for children to play Check it out. You...

Beautiful little gem park hidden on Dixie Farm Road. Views, atmosphere and nature are amazing 🤩 great for morning walks, hiking trails, and biking! The earlier you go the better because after 8:30 am. It starts getting packed with more people wanting to walk and jog the trails. Highly recommended! There is a wood trail amazingly beautiful, I don’t recommend going thru there alone. Little spooky 😳 Trails sidewalks are huge plenty of room for people to walk thru. Very friendly people I encountered. It’s dog friendly and has plenty of benches to rest along the trail. Also has a children’s playground 🛝. Only thing is parking area is too small not enough parking spaces. Very clean most definitely will be doing my morning walks here. See you guys there!...

I love this park because there is very little litter but there are NO BENCHES along the trail except one wooden one that is splintery. Why? We pay our dues, I mean so many walk this entire trail from Blackhawk all the way down to Dixie Farm Road park. We need benches and they should also provide solar lights along the pathways, more bathrooms and some more fencing. Have noticed some graffiti along the path and tire dumping. So sad. As far as wildlife goes, I have seen many snakes 🐍 and big ones at that but leave them alone & they will leave you alone. And keep your dog on a 6 foot leash. We are in their yard, nothing is “OURS”.
