Greencrest Manor — Attraction in Pennfield Charter Township

We had our wedding at Greencrest in July 2023. After a pretty mild and dry May and June, July rolled in with humidity and storms. GCM had a plan B, C, and D to address the rain. In order to address the heat, we made the call on the morning of to have cold towels for our guests. GCM didn't blink and had them done in a few hours. During cocktail hour they opened up the manor for people to cool off before the reception. On the dance floor, I asked if they could roll in the fans, and they were out within minutes.

The venue itself is the best we've seen in the midwest. To compare, Kohler had too many rules and restrictions and LFA's layout was narrow and stuffy. The flow of the ceremony on the back lawn, to cocktail hour on the verandas, and then the reception in the celebration house, cannot be beat. We loved that each area of the property and room in the house has its own vibe and energy. On top of all of that, the grounds of the manor are superb. Our guests were in awe of the manor's beauty. You’ll save on florals simply because of Jenn's green thumb and her grounds staff.

All of our guests felt extremely well taken care of. More than one guest needed to use the golf cart to get around the property. One was feeding an infant at GCM's lake house (highly recommend renting) and was taken to/from by cart. Another had Parkinson's and when their legs gave out, they were given a ride to their car. At the end of the night we had a guest that wasn't feeling well. GCM called an ambulance and got her the medical treatment she needed. They also called her hotel to make sure her dog in the hotel room was okay. We felt horrible about this end of the night fiasco, but Jenn and her team made us feel like it was no big deal and that put us at ease.

Finally, GCM was clutch when one of our hotel's had a pipe clog and shut off water for the entire weekend. We had to relocate 50-some guests within a short amount of time. Our day-of-planner helped us coordinate a new bus shuttle itinerary and get the guests rebooked in Kalamazoo. They also let us stay at the manor an extra night because we didn't have the time to go to Kalamazoo to shower and get ready for our rehearsal.

Overall, we cannot recommend Greencrest enough. Our only complaint is that one day at the manor goes by...

During the planning process, The Team at Greencrest was there every step of the way. We had thorough discussions to ensure we were all on the same page and they met every request with grace and readiness to execute. I don’t think there was a request that they said ‘no’ to!

We had every obstacle thrown at us on our wedding weekend (Thursday-Sunday) including tornados on Thursday, power outage, trees falling and storms throughout the whole weekend. Greencrest’s Team was on top of all of it. They ensured that our wedding weekend went off without a hitch and that we all stayed safe. The owner, Jenn, drove to Detroit to ensure we had a large enough generator to run our event and offered her personal home to us for getting ready. The Venue Coordinator/Manager, Dani, turned on battery operated lights for us each night throughout our extended stay and met every need/want we had and more. She wore many hats throughout the weekend and executed each flawlessly. The grounds crew worked diligently to clean up debris from the storms.

Now onto our actual Wedding Day - We changed so much on the day of because of the storms; including moving our cocktail hour inside and flipping the layout of our ceremony. The Greencrest Manor Team did not skip a beat. Though our event was being run off generators, no one even knew! From the decor, food, drinks and florals down to the guest experience, execution, and atmosphere, Greencrest truly went above and beyond to meet every expectation we had and more.

We had an absolute riot and it was the most magical wedding weekend. We will remember this weekend for years to come thanks to the entire Greencrest Team and their keen eye for detail and experience in the industry.

We found Greencrest online back in 2019 and immediately reached out. We were greeted with excitement and warmth. But the moment we stepped foot onto the property we were speechless. The photos do not even do this place justice. Our ceremony was outside with a European style landscape which is a dream we thought could only happen if we chose a destination wedding. I could go on and on about the breathtaking views, gardens, and locations on the property that were available for us and our guests to enjoy; as the venue speaks for itself when it comes the beauty and romance of a dream wedding venue.

However, what makes this place truly special is Jenn, the owner, and her dedicated team. Ali was our coordinator who literally took care of every hiccup, every little thing we needed the weekend of our wedding, including boxing up my bouquet to be sent out in the mail the next day. Their attention to detail during our wedding weekend was paramount (which included a Murder Mystery welcome party on Friday, wedding on Saturday and Sunday brunch). Jenn spent 3 straight days setting up the celebration house just to bring our reception design to life, so I would say they went above and beyond in every single way possible. Jenn and the Greencrest team poured their hearts and souls into making sure my husband and I, our family, and our guests, had the most positive, stress-free, and unforgettable wedding experience. Not once did we feel like we were just "another customer" - we always felt valued, and like family. The connection we had with them made our wedding SO much more memorable. From our initial contact, and design meetings, up to our post wedding brunch, our experience overall was seamless.
