Was there for a graduation party. The hall used was wonderful and very spacious. They provided the tables, chairs, and table cloths. They had the food catered by Hy-Vee. You bring everything else. That where you have money. You and guests get to walk the trails for the rest of the if you feel up to it. Our hall had wolves that are housed next to us where we could also view them through the window. There were what looked like local birds displayed behind glass. There were back stairs that lead up to the gift shop and inside restrooms. Again there were more displayed of animals and large covered eagle and an Indian. I took a few pics. The restrooms were clean. The park is wheelchair accessible with parking up front and ramps everywhere. There is as expected...

Definitely worth a visit. Easily spend a morning / afternoon here. All staff where great and my kids enjoy the train ride every time we go. It's also not to expensive. Everytime I go I always think that there is so much potential in this park with more money etc there is so much they could do to make it one of the best parks about. But then no crowds , peaceful walk, beautiful scenery etc. Maybe they have got...

We were there very late in the day so many parts of the park were already closed. It definitely needs some TLC, but we still enjoyed the walk around and seeing the animals. We visited here about 12 years ago. We ate Thanksgiving dinner here and it was delicious. The outdoor areas were kept up better back then. This could be a wonderful place if the State of IL would invest more time and...

If you really really want some adventure in central Illinois, you have to check out @WildlifePrairiePark in Hanna City, IL This hidden gem is packed with outdoor experiences for all ages. In our latest adventure, we booked a private meet & greet with Ollie the Owl 🦉 (who’s full of personality), then trekked out with Nakoma the bison 🦬—and yes, we even got to feed her! The Prairie Zephyr train 🚂 gave us a scenic ride through the park, and the Gollywhopper Slide brought out the kid in all of us. 😂 We kayaked 🛶 across the peaceful waters of Deep Lake, wandered the animal trails where we spotted black bears, bobcats, bison, elk, red foxes, and even cougars, and still didn’t run out of things to do. You can also hike, fish, bike, or let the kids explore multiple playgrounds and natural play zones. 💾Save for your future visit: To book specialty encounters like the owl or bison experiences, check out their website—spots are limited and fill fast! Whether you’re local or road tripping through the Midwest, this place is 100% worth a stop. 🎥 Come adventure with us for a full day at @WildlifePrairiePark — one of Illinois’ best family-friendly destinations for outdoor fun, animal encounters, and hands-on experiences! 🎟️ Admission to the park: • Adults (13–64): $15 • Children (3–12): $11 • Seniors (65+): $13 • Kids 2 & under: FREE Pro tip: memberships are available if you plan to visit more than once! 🦉 We started at the Visitor Center, where you’ll find the ticket booth, snack shack, gift shop, and a gorgeous overlook of the bison field. 📍 Be sure to visit the Forest Hall Education Center, where you can book a private meet & greet with Ollie and Jessie the owls — a special hands-on session that’s perfect for families and school groups. Call ahead or inquire at the visitor center to reserve your session. 🚜 Then we hopped on the Adventure Trek — a guided off-road ride through the park’s back trails. You’ll pass through elk and bison habitats and maybe even get the chance to feed Nakoma the bison! • Trek cost: $20/person (prices vary - check online) • Tickets available online or at the visitor center (times vary by season) 🚣‍♀️ After that, we hit the water at Deep Lake for some kayaking! • Rentals available at the dock ($20 per hour) • Kid kayaks and EZ boards available • You can also bring your own kayak — just check in at the front gate 🚂 We wrapped up with the Prairie Zephyr Train Ride, a charming loop around the park. • Train cost: $7/person • Runs seasonally with scheduled departures Don’t forget to stop by the Gollywhopper Slide too — it’s a must-do for kids (and parents acting like kids 😄). 🌿 We’re so grateful for the opportunity to explore Wildlife Prairie Park, and we can’t wait to come back. Whether you’re nearby or road-tripping through the Midwest, this hidden gem deserves a spot on your family’s adventure list! #wildlifeprairiepark #enjoyillinois #theventureseekers
