My husband and I along with our son went out there for the first time. Beautiful place, however some trash but unfortunately thats normal anymore due to people not caring. I'd suggest bug spray and a long enough stick to wave in front of you to knock down spider webs lol. Didn't see or hear anything creepy like others say happens. Trails are rough but still very fun! I think we also found the tree they say a 7 year old girl named Stephanie was tied to and allegedly murdered. I can't seem to find any pictures of this tree online but I'll upload the ones I have of a tree that sounds like the description. The tree did look to have had a rope tied around it at some point as well. Again didn't see or hear anything paranormal but still a very beautiful place. We plan to return!

It may be part of a state forest but it doesn't seem to be maintained like it. Trash everywhere. Campfires everywhere, also filled with trash (and cheap booze bottles). First thing we saw were two mattresses laying off the side of the trail. We visited because we read it was supposedly "haunted". My 7 year old gave the most appropriate description, "eww. this place is haunted, haunted by grossness." It could be lovely. Great spot by the river and many, many trails (covered in trash). Trails are a bit rough due to horses. But we're always happy to share the woods with riders. Update February 3 2019-still haunted by grossness. See pics.

The road to the trails could use some work. Don't drive it unless you have big tires and a lift kit. We parked and walked down to the river. Nothing weird, scary, or paranormal but of course it could be if you trick your mind to think that way. It's beautiful and quiet. Could use some trash pick up but people also shouldn't throw it on the ground. We will definitely be going back. Terrain is a little tougher than some areas around here but not awful. I had 2 10yr olds with me they did just fine.
