Ongaro & Sons — Attraction in Petaluma

I recently had the pleasure of working with Ongaro & Sons for some plumbing and electrical work in my home, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, my experience with their team was exceptional.

First and foremost, they were incredibly punctual. They arrived within the estimated window of arrival, which was a great relief considering my busy schedule. Punctuality is so important, and Ongaro & Sons did not disappoint.

One of the most impressive aspects of their service was the professionalism and politeness of their staff. Not once did I feel talked down to or "mansplained" to, which, unfortunately, can be a common experience for many women dealing with contractors. They explained everything in clear, straightforward terms and made sure I understood each step of the process without any condescension.

Communication was top-notch throughout the project. The team kept me in the loop about all aspects of the work being done, ensuring I was aware of progress, any potential issues, and timelines. This transparency made me feel very secure and confident in their work.

Safety is always a concern when having work done in your home, but I felt completely at ease with the Ongaro & Sons team. They conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism and respect, and I always felt safe and comfortable around them.

Lastly, their customer service went above and beyond my expectations. They truly cared about my satisfaction and took extra steps to ensure everything was perfect. Whether it was answering my questions or addressing minor concerns, they handled everything with grace and efficiency.

I hardly ever take the time to do reviews but I need to let everyone know of my positive experience with this company. I live in Elk Grove CA and suddenly my AC wasn't working. It would turn on but no air was blowing through the vents. I googled AC repair and somehow came across Ongaro & Son's along with tons of other companies. Ongaro had a very good $40 diagnostic deal. I called them and Ethan was able to come out the same day. He diagnosed the problem and found that the blower motor was dead and needed to be replaced. This part was under warranty but I was forced to use Clarke and Rush who did the installation and dealt with Carrier, the brand of my unit. Their rep came out and also said the blower motor was dead. However he said that I had to have a surge protector in order to get a warranty for the new motor. He quoted me $289 not including labor. The quote didn't even have the kA rating or anything. The estimate just said surge protector. I contacted Ethan to see if a surge protector was indeed needed for warranty reasons and he said no. Ethan did acknowledge that surge protectors are very good to have but wasn't aware of any requirement to have one to warranty a part. As anyone would, I felt completely ripped off after finding many different surge protectors online between $50 and $90. Ethan with Ongaro & Sons was knowledgeable, helpful and came across as honest. He didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I would highly highly recommend contacting and using this company for your HVAC...

Right from the start all the way to finish we had an outstanding experience with Ongaro & Sons. Our review is based off a rather larger two day job. We installed two shutoff valves, one in front of the meter near our road with a new concrete box, one at the house including raising the main up and tucking it tight against the house. We replaced all hose bibs and did a complete re-pipe under the house in a crawlspace that had been recently encapsulated.

David was outstanding on the first and subsequent inspections, very knowledgeable and friendly and explained our issues clearly. Turns out we live near each other too so when the idea of adding a second shutoff was proposed he came and took a look and spent more time than needed with us. David’s professionalism was what sold us. Tony paid a visit after David to inspect again and get a sense of all materials needed ensuring nothing was missed for parts or the job.

Tony, Zach and Armato (hope I spelled that right!) further reinforced our decision. They were an outstanding crew, prompt, professional, friendly and explained all aspects of what they were doing and had done, showed us pictures, cleaned up very well, and most importantly took great care to not tear the new liner under the house….and were all around awesome guys. I can’t thank them enough.

We will be renovating soon and will need a lot more plumbing work and will be requesting the same crew! You can’t go wrong...
