Arden Falls — Attraction in Philippi

I absolutely love going to spend a quiet peaceful day down by the river. I've been coming here for 40+ years. When life gets hard and stressful I make a point to take a drive here and relax. I have many wonderful memories spending time here with family and friends. One of the few places left where you can take your dogs or kids and spend time swimming, camping, cookout, or just hang out and enjoy the scenery for free. There are private and public places all along the river and you are rarely ever bothered by others. I hope that this is one of the places in rural WV that will never change. I think there are some smaller rapid like parts in the river that people might consider to be “the falls” but don’t come here expecting to see a high or very noticeable typical waterfall.
