I heard wonderful things about this breeder so we got our golden from here. It’s been hell. I had pick of the litter and I chose him by a picture of him when he was newborn. Eyes were not even open yet. I was so excited. He was going to be my service dog. I did not know the pups are taken from mom as soon as they can eat hard food and must be picked up at 6 weeks. Our vet and our trainer believe this is one of the main causes of his behavioral issues. We’ve worked with a trainer. He barks constantly and we’ve tried everything. He is not a lovable dog meaning he has attachment issues that again might be a result of being taken from mom and siblings two weeks too soon. Finally he will show his teeth and growl when you try to pet him. He bit me and broke through the skin. It is not the trainer’s fault. She’s one of the top five trainers in WV. This also is not my first golden. WV is one of a four states that doesn’t have any laws or requirements about when the dog should be removed from mom and siblings. Thankfully, I have “an in” at the state legislature and will be working to change the system and demand a law to be put into place. While he’s as cute as can be, he missed vital time with mom and siblings to have received corrections from his mom. We love him more than anything but we will be choosing my service dog puppy in October from a better breeder . Purchase here with caution. Owners treated us very well I just wish they would have had afforded our baby what he deserved.

We got our golden retriever from Sickler Farm last week and are extremely happy. We picked her up at 11 going on 12 weeks and she's such a sweet and gentle girl. Lisa and Jeff were very kind and easy to work with, and the puppy came with her vaccines and was already microchipped which was nice. It didn't take her more than one night to become crate trained, and now she loves sleeping in her crate. The farm was very nice and well maintained, and the breeders' grandchildren were there playing with the puppies when we picked her up. She's a very well behaved puppy and got the "all good" when we took her to the vet this week. Would recommend.
