Great trip for kids, or adults that just like railroads, this narrow gauge train takes you on a short trip stopping at a scenic spot along the Sandy River as well as a rebuilt railroad house.
The track is about a half a mile long. The train will take you to the end of the line stopping for about 15 minutes giving you time to explore or listen to a brief presentation.
A second 15 minute stop is made on the way back at a the railroad house. In this area are several old railroad cars, cabooses, and old pump cars, one of which can be tried out.
There are short trails along the river to explore and a small building at the end of the line that serves as a nice museum with old railroad photos and artifacts.

Everyone was so friendly! Also, a bonus, we came mid-June, and there were tons of wild strawberries that we could...

Partway through the ride, they stopped the train to let us switch to the open air car, where we could lay on our backs and look at the stars while the train moved. The volunteers who make this experience possible are the best, and they are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and...
