This place is a hidden gem, tucked back near Kings Valley. There are road signs leading you right to it. Restroom facilities are clean. There is a large covered picnic area with grills and counter space available to rent. Gravel trails lead you down to the charred remnants of a school house, as well as two historic farm houses. You can't go inside them, but looking in the windows reveal beautiful forgotten spaces.

This is a gem of a stop! There is a .6 mile loop with signs explaining the history of this interesting site, from Native American to Fort to pioneer history. It is a beautiful location, with an old orchard and valley view. There are well maintained restrooms and a very nice, large covered picnic area. I want to return to go on the 1.2 mile hike to the wildflower meadow!

Beautiful view from the parking lot and picnic shelter across Fort Hoskins grounds and down the lock commute River Valley. Great 1.7 mile loop trail above picnic shelter parking lot. Top of loop looks out across Kings Valley. Wheelchair accessible path at picnic shelter and bathrooms. Very nice and clean bathrooms. Pictures are from two different times.

Visited the place for the second time as in the first time, I was just scouting the place. Just before the board map, you can see the trail on the left hand side. It's a pretty good trail, took about 45 mins to 1 hour to complete the whole trail. Definitely worth the view, after climbing for that amount of time. Very nice picnic spot with well established seating place in the hut and also there's a small house (Fort) at the bottom of the road. Didn't go to the fort this time,...

The picnic shelter here is one of the best I have been to. It has running water and real sinks. The hiking path up the hill is nice and well taken care of, the self good tour/home is pretty cool too. It was great to come on a weekday with my kids as there was nobody at the park. Near the picnic shelter is field with some trees and the kids played in that area while my wife and I had a picnic. The area is really quiet and we had a wonderful time and actually came back...

The first fun thing I did after my father died was go the Summit Summer Festival and then this park, which was newly opened. I loved the stillness of it. I still love coming here. There's an old apple orchard; ea h tree has a tag naming the type of apple. There are nice restrooms and a really good, fairly large picnic shelter you can reserve, with tables, a cooktop and sinks. There are historic signs, and an officer's house. Just a pretty, quiet,...
