I love how you have to hike a trail to get to the beach. Not only is the trail good exercise but it also gives you something to look forward look. The view on top of the mountain is slightly obscured because of some trees and a private beach house but its still a beautiful view. The beach itself is beautiful! And there's a map that tells you where the restricted areas are, the restricted areas are where the sea birds make their nests. If you walk along the beach long enough (make a left after you officially enter the beach) you'll walk right on Popham beach. Me and my husband love coming there to hike/swim. My husband took the pictures, he's a good photographer. 🥰 Donations are optional but I highly recommend donating if you can, all of the donations go towards preserving the trail and beach. And you have to be really rich to live in some of the private beach houses...

The hike over Morse mountain onto seawall beach is awesome. Read these tips before going.

First, the only allow people who park in the provided parking area to walk to the beach. You CANNOT, park elsewhere and walk in. There are only 30 ish parking spots, so go early or early afternoon when the early birds start to leave.

Second, the walk is on a mostly paved road that is a seasonal "driveway"to some residents that love the conservation area. So the walking is not that bad. It is not a hike, but not an easy walk. There are some up hills.

Third. Bring bugs spray. The mosquitos can be harsh being so close to a wetland area. And the horse flys are a bit annoying in the drier sand on the beach.

Lastly, walk the beach, have a blast in the water and carry out what you bring in. There is no facilities or...

I took my first solo adventures here this past weekend. After a recommendation from a friend I couldn't wait to check this place out.

The commute was just under 2hours one way from the Bangor area. The parking attendant confirmed that it was a good idea to get there early as the lot is often full by noon. Cars are turned away when the lot is full.

The hike in was gorgeous! A couple of big hills and the mosquitoes would carry you away if they could. BRING BUGSPRAY!

The beach was absolutely breathtaking. It was just about low tide when I arrived and there was only a few other folks in sight.

The hike out starts with two big hills, followed by another hill to check out the summit. The extra hill is 100% worth it as the summit had...

Real back to nature hike. No bathrooms or other facilities. You probably wont get cell coverage on most of the trail. And at the end you get to a deserted beach with no lifeguards, no showers or changing rooms. The trail itself is easy. Mostly dirt or gravel roads and light elevation grades. There are private homes on the path so look out for occasional cars. Part of path takes you to private property on top of the hill. Beautiful. But be respectful of the property owners -you’re technically trespassing. Be careful while on the cliffside. If its wet, you will slide to your death. Theres no guardrails or fences -use your own common sense.
