Campground has a lot of trash strewn through it. I gathered up as much as I could since the wild ducks were picking through some that was left and a lot of the metal trash was rusted through like it'd been there for months or years. The campsites are NOT cleaned up for trash after the previous camper leaves. There are lots of beer cans strewn around also...I thought this was against the rules. Also, several campers have gas powered golf carts, which I thought was against the rules, but I digress. The bathroom trash is not picked up daily, the playgrounds are littered with trash. And the ants you ask??? They're everywhere and I can promise that you will have them in your beds and any unsealed food and even some Ziploc sealed foods!!!! The park staff people that ride around in the green carts do not care one tiny bit. In fact, the gentleman who drives the green golf cart promised to go check for some ant spray or granules and come back. He never did. This is definitely not the first time this above mentioned gentleman promised to help out with a problem and never came back. I stayed here a couple of years ago and lost power due to a fuse blowing. The gentleman came and replaced it once and the second fuse blew right away. I had nothing at all except for one inside light turned on in my camper. The gentleman refused to do anything else and blamed me for having too much turned on in the camper. I had to run a drop cord from my camper to the site next to me since it was 17 degrees outside...I never lost power again! Go to Oconee Point Campground! Sites are better, friendly and responsive staff, and clean bathrooms...
Read moreWhoa! We used to come here a long time ago and swim. Just recently have we been coming to camp. I'm so glad we've started coming back because this place has really stepped their game up and is a blast! Two times ago we camped at a site but this last time we chose to check out one of their new cabins! This thing was amazing. We had 6 adults sleeping and more that visited and at no point did we feel crowded. These cabins are right on the water which gives a beautiful view any time of day. They offer full kitchens, bathrooms and a bedroom. The one we were in had a loft area that slept two, two bunk beds and a full bedroom with queen bed. The living area was spacious that had a futon that could sleep even two more! And then add on the screened in porch and you have the perfect spot to camp. They are fully furnished as well with beautiful furniture. All of the amenities around the park were clean and had plenty of options. I appreciated all of the staff that we dealt with and you could really tell they enjoyed their jobs and their guests. We...
Read moreI have visited Mile Creek campground over the last 10 years every 4th of July with my family. I have to say this year has been the worse it has ever been. Car line the roadway so you can't pass, golf carts going the wrong way up street so you can't drive through them and the camp sites are nasty with cigarette butts everywhere and the grill in filled with garbage from previous campers. When I go to a hotel, I expect the bed to be made and room clean...the same with my camp site. The people there now are rude, loud and obnoxious. There's no one to tell them to mind their kids, move there cars, get their cars and gold carts off my campsite so I can park, etc. When the people are asked to move out of the way so we can get through, they mouth off just like a trashy redneck would. This is my last year of visiting this park. If I want to camp, I will find another campground or stay home. Two years ago this was a great campground with family oriented people. I say fire the staff and start over. Obviously they aren't doing very well...
