I’ve been to Chester’s many times. Yesterday(10/16), my son had his 1st grade field trip there. It has always been a fun time to go here and my children do love it. The pumpkins have certainly never been great but it is what it is. Yesterday though in the sweet shop the girl working was absolutely miserable. I took my son in to get a treat after lunch and there was a little girl who had just purchased a lollipop. She came back in with her mom and they very politely asked if they could exchange it because the lollipop was cracked (if you have a kid you understand how devastating this is to them) the young lady working proceeded to very dramatically stare at the little girl, slowly take the lollipop, look it over and roll her eyes, and then say “I mean I guess.” After they left the girl held the lollipop up to me and said, “I mean it’s just a crack but okay” and then threw the lollipop on her counter by the cash register. I was ready to check out, my son wanted some cotton candy (that I had to blow an inch of dust off of the canister) I went to hand it to her and she very rudely said, “you don’t need to hand that to me, he can hold it, it’s $4.” The attitude when the prices are already higher than necessary was appalling. Exchanging a lollipop to keep a little girl happy on her field trip costed the place nothing, and then to be rude to me for not knowing if you’d need to scan my child’s cotton candy? Please, get someone else working in front of the children. Someone who can manage to, at the very least be polite to the children themselves. This was a very...
Read moreAbsolutely wholesome family fun. We have littles (5 & 3) and all the activities were perfectly tailored to their age and ability. The petting zoo had a nice variety of animals to interact with and the kids had a blast, even when one ornery goat snagged the feed cup! The hay bale maze wasn't too difficult for them and the playground at the end of it was a fun reward for solving the maze. I really appreciate the fact that the price includes the activities inside like the pony rides. It is $1 to get feed for the petting zoo animals, but that is also a perfectly fair price for the amount of feed you get. The only downside we had the entire time was that the bouncy house got taken down before the kids had a chance to jump in it, but these things happen so we understand. We were there for about two hours total and we felt like we totally got our money's worth and more! We each got to pick a small pumpkin to bring home too and the kiddos loved getting to pick their very own. All and all, this was a beautiful and wholesome way to spend our Saturday; and Chester (the owner) hosts a wonderful event. We even met him and shook his hand to thank him for the chance to visit and for the memories we got to make today! We will definitely be making this an annual event for our...
Read moreFinal score: Fence posts = 3, Fixit-Beard = 17. Twas a long fought battle between the fence and I over these last few weeks; One that lasted longer than some wars. But when the concrete dust settled, and the nails stopped flying, October Add a day's pressure washing & bucket of new stain and the fence looks like it did 10 years ago. Yes you can get 20+ years out of fence here in Oklahoma if you take 1 weekend every 10years to give a little TLC. Trick is to stain/paint it when it's new before it fades. Thank you to my supply officer B for keeping me hydrated & always wanting to help; my Operations officer M for providing the extra manpower when needed; my futures planner S for always having something else to do when a day's fight drug on for too long; superb industry support from American companies like Lowes & Home Depot, that were able to meet wartime demands and keep production flowing into theatre. Last I couldn't have been victorious without my Chain of Command Colls Brun giving me the support, advice, and having patience to let me see this thing through to the end! The small things like, "You need to pressure wash that before staining," were the difference between...
