Scripture Rocks Heritage Park — Attraction in Pine Creek Township

Google didn't record that I visited here, but I did. Right outside Brookville, this is a boulder-strewn multi-acre wooded area, containing over 60 rocks that have had Biblical scripture carved on them in the early 1900s. Unfortunately there is not the impact that one should get, because the rocks are unprotected, open to the weather and people walking on them, so the inscriptions are difficult to read. Well curated trails lead you through hemlock trees to boulders with inscriptions carved into them. The trail maps available with a small donation are great for finding your way around and providing the history surrounding them.

The trails are easy to walk and there are benches everywhere to rest and reflect.

My family visited at the beginning of the year and found it sheltered from strong winds. Definitely a fun trip for all ages!

This is a very peaceful and serene area to take a stroll thru or sit down and just enjoy nature. There’s a pavilion with picnic tables, on one side of the parking lot and a small little pond on the other side near the trails.
