Our annual visit to Madrac Farms to explore the corn maze, ride the slide, and pick the perfect pumpkin to take home šŸŽƒšŸ§”ā˜•ļøšŸŒ½šŸ› #madracfarms #rinconga #savannahga #pumpkinpatch

A joke. The pumpkins were so overpriced, $17 for a regular one you can get anywhere else for $6. The kids area was cute but so crowded and it smells. The goats and chickens are out in the sun with no shade, and that pond for water. The pumpkin patch was unmaintained, they had roaches filling out of every crack. Teenagers sat at stations around the place on their phones. $10 ADMISSION A PERSON. Ridiculous, never coming back Edit: the response to this by management is crazy, I should have gotten more photos. They had 3 roosters in the single pen with the hens, the goats had 0 shade in the 90 degree weather, not a single pumpkin to pick because the roaches ate through them all! I came to PICK pumpkins, I would have gone to Walmart if I known. I have been to patches in southern Georgia, all along the south and have never seen one this bad.

I'd like to start by saying I'm not a complainer. I understand stuff happens. But today we drove 40 minutes to get to Madrac Farms. The gravel road into it was blocked off, and instead there was a dirt road full of humongous potholes, filled with woodchips! I've never driven slower in my life....what the heck?

There was a long line to get down this road....then when we get to the parking lot, after 10 minute down the drive, the parking lot is full. Probably 100 cars driving slowly around the parking area, hoping someone will miraculously leave, and hoping you're in the right place at the right time.

There were no employees in the parking lot directing anyone. So rather than a corn-maze, we spent literally 30 minutes in a parking-lot-maze, trying to get the heck out of there.

I understand people probably swarmed the place, due to the covid lockdown we live in. But we promised our two-year-old pumpkins and goats. Instead she got 2 hours in her car seat, and a trip to Walmart to get a pumpkin and a toy, for being so well-behaved during this waste of time.

If the owners read this, I would advise the following:

  1. get a proper road (gravel is great, not potholes and woodchips)
  2. build a larger parking area
  3. have some employees out there directing traffic
  4. if you're over-capacity, turn people away at the main road!!

I wish the owners success in their venture. Business owner myself. But I guarantee, we will...

UPDATED: The corn maze is short and fun, but not a challenge (great for kids). The play ground gets better every year! Swings and tire play and corn pit were so great for my young ones and even my 4th grader. The new race track is cute and my kids loved that as well. The farm animals were great. My kids found the sack slide absolutely irresistible. There were also plenty of places to sit and eat. We brought our own food, but I let the boys pick out a treat. We didn't buy a pumpkin, but we deffinetly left with some great memories. We'll be back next year! :) don't go if you're expecting fancy toilets. They have a couple...
