Lions Park in Placerville, CA, is quite a gem. She's a beaut! The park was dedicated in 1968 by the Placerville Lion's Club. 24 acre park with two tennis courts, four pickle ball courts, two softball fields, frisbee disc golf course, children's play area, restroom, walking trail, and picnic tables and bbqs. The courts are locked though. City residents can purchase a key from the City's Parks and Recreation Office to access the courts. The park was extremely clean and well maintained. On my weekend visit, I was surprised to see a groundskeeper working on a weekend afternoon. He was no slacker. No wonder this place was so neat and tidy.

I really enjoy this park because it offers two separate playgrounds—one for younger kids and another for older children—which makes it great for families with kids of different ages. There are also plenty of picnic tables and grills, making it a perfect spot for gatherings. Additionally, the park features tennis and pickleball courts nearby. You can purchase a key for the lock for just $10 at 249 Main Street. The key is renewed or returned once a year, which is a convenient and affordable system. The park is clean, well-maintained, and offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking to play, relax, or enjoy a picnic outdoors.

A very nice park but there's a major safety concern with one of the slides on the play structure. There is a gaping hole with sharp plastic edges precisely where one's rear goes. Nothing here to stop someone from running up the stairs, located opposite the damaged slide, and sliding down. Anyone, adult or child who uses this slide WILL get hurt! I reported this issue to the City of Placerville. Hopefully it will be repaired soon.

Two dog parks available one for small dogs one for large dogs. You can bring small into the large. The nice thing about this park on a particular day that I came is that the pet owners were very kind and responsible it was my first time so I walked around the inside dirt track parameter and sat down on a bench far away from the crowd with my dog on a leash. One of the senior park goers after about 30 minutes walked over and brought his dog towards me and asked if they could meet, which was extremely polite, it was my first time and I was unsure of how my dog would react to others. They did well, then I followed the gentleman over to where the rest of the dog owners were and asked if they mind if I took my dog off the leash I told them it was my dog's first time and they were all very pleasing and accepting and understanding. My fears were unfounded that it would be a train wreck of an experience but my sweet girl was able to play around get some great exercise and I was able to meet some kind people. I was there at 9:30 a.m. which meant that the people who I was with were mostly seniors and retired I'm not sure what the experience would be like in the afternoon but at 9:30 in the morning during the weekday it was very pleasant.

As for the condition of the park there is not a lot of land mines people are very diligent at picking up. Plenty of shade trees and a couple of benches if you need to sit while your dog plays. The grass is mowed relatively short and varied terrain so If you have an old dog or young dog they will both...

This is for sure one of my children's top 3 parks and we rotate parks in a pretty large radius from here regularly, as well as go to new ones whenever we are somewhere new. There are often other kids there, and everyone has always been nice. The kids like it because there are tow play structures, and none is very big with large slides. On two occasions I have heard a random kid running up who I guess hadn't been there yelling something to the effect of "this is the best park ever!!"

I feel like the park is kept clean. There are two sets of bathrooms that are pretty well maintained.

I dont play baseball but they maintain the field frequently.

I do play disc golf, and this 12 hole disc golf course is pretty unique and fun. What makes it unique is how high up a hill it eventually climbs, and makes for some interesting super steep uphil and down hill drives. There is some poison oak when you get up on the hill, but it isn't too crazy. I have lost a lot of discs here bc of the drives off of the hill top...but it's worth it. Lots of golden grass usually so don't throw yellow or orange...

Great park! Grass is beautifully kept as are the general grounds around the park. They have a covered gazebo area with 4 large picnic tables, easily accessible water spigot & a huge BBQ pit. All which can be rented out for parties for a fairly decent price (with deposit) I've had many parties here... There is an upper & lower baseball field both which are very well kept. Tennis courts are nice & the play structures in the park area are the most decent out of all the parks here in town. I bring my 9 yr old to play in the kids area, while my teenager sits peacefully in the shade on a picnic bench drawing & my hubby is over in the frisbee disc golf area having his fun. GREAT multi-purpose park! Baseball games are also SO FUN to watch. Some killer players here in our lil town. This park is a Win-Win in my families book. Also pet friendly (just please clean up after them💩😊)

Con: Bathrooms could use some...
